"Casey, why don't you tell us about your story today" the Christian guy not only said her name wrong, he also pointed at the wrong girl who had dyed her hair red, her natural brownish hair were beginning show. Might I say, it is a hideous colour. Did I ever mention how much I hated red?
"It's Cassie actually, and I'm a student here. I came here to study the different types of mental disorders on people." Everyone was quiet, she blankly kept her gaze to wall.
"Alright then, why don't you tell us about yourself Kyle." Not again. I huffed and plugged in my earphones. I don't know how long I stayed there listening to music while other's talked about the horrific events they went through in life.
My mind was filled with thoughts about my family, my nana, school and my future. No matter how indifferent I made myself out to be, I guess I cared a bit about my life. How I want to spend it, who I wish to be, with whom I want to be. I was surrounded by fake people wanting to get close to me because of my status, because of my father. My dad is an influential person, Robert Preston is the news anchor of MBC international news. He was one of Hollywoods greatest actor before then, safe to say everybody knows him.
Sometimes I'd like to imagine how life would be if I was born in a normal middle-class family. Would I have been any different? Maybe I wouldn't have a shitty attitude, maybe I'd be more likeable, social and... kind. Maybe I'd have more than one friend, maybe I'd have someone at home waiting for me..
"Kyle Preston" I hear someone calling me, I didn't realize when my music stopped. "The class was over 5 minutes ago, from my observation, you are not improving at all. Perhaps it's time you stopped attending community counseling." The red head- Cassie stands in front of me with her books tightly to her chest. Why does she always carry around books with her? What kind of books are they? Looks like medical books.
I stand up and walk past her, not bothering to give her reply.
"Mr. Preston , It is considered rude to ignore someone who is speaking with you" she walks beside me. Her heels clicking with every step she took. "I think it would be more beneficial if you tried to socialize more, not only would you be doing yourself a favour, but your family as well. Mr. Brown asked me to give you school worksheets from every class so you wouldn't fall behind. He also requested me to tutor you just in case you didn't understand anything from the lessons I delivered you. I printed my notes written down in class, I do not have it with me right now. I will bring it to you next time we see each other, or you can give me a call and we can meet up whenever you're free. Also, I researched about your illness a bit more to help--" I stop walking and kicked a rubbish bin near the tree, suddenly feeling riled up. She jumps a little, startled by my actions as she backs away under a tree.
"What do you want from me Cassie?" I breath lowly whilst walking closer to her. "Why do you keep on bothering me? Why do you care about my wellbeing? Did I ever ask for your help? You need to stay away me, stop talking me, don't even look at me, run away when you see me. I really cannot control my anger, I could hurt you, very, very badly. " at this point, we were only a meter away, her back was pushed up against the tree. Her eyes flattered few times, at that moment, I noticed how fragile she was. Petite and feminine, I found it insanely attractive..
Until, she opened her mouth. "When was the last time you smiled Kyle Preston?"
