Once upon a time, there lived a charming young prince named Louis Tomlinson. His stepfather, the King, was jealous of Louis’ exquisite charm. Every day the King would ask, “Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

Each time the mirror would answer, “You are.”

But one day, when Louis had grown old enough the mirror replied, “The young prince I see, he is more fair than thee.”

“It’s Louis!” snarled the King.

At that moment, Louis was in the courtyard singing as he went about his chores. A handsome Prince from the town over heard his lovely voice when he was passing by, and he called to him. Louis smiled and the Prince, Prince Harry, sang back to him, his voice just as wonderful. Louis listened happily to his voice, and did not see his evil Stepfather watching them.

Enraged with jealousy, the King ordered his huntsman Paul, “Take Prince Louis into the forest and kill him.”

As ordered, the huntsman led Prince Louis deep into the woods, but he could not harm him. “I can’t do as the King wishes,” he wept, “Run away, child, and never come back!”

Louis fled into the forest. As he ran, he wondered why his stepfather had wanted him killed. Lost in his thoughts, he tripped and fell to the ground, and began to cry.

In the midst of his tears, Louis looked up and found himself surrounded by forest animals. “Do you know where I can stay?” he asked them.

The friendly animals led Louis to a cottage in the woods.

“It’s like a doll’s house!” said Prince Louis. He knocked on the door, but no one answered. “May I come in?” he called. Slowly he stepped inside.

As Louis wandered through the house he discovered seven little chairs and seven little beds.

“Seven little children must live here, I’ll clean for them,” the Prince suggested. “Then maybe they’ll let me stay.”

Close by, the seven dwarfs who owned the cottage were busy working in their mine. All day long they dug for jewels.

At five o’clock it was time to go. Liam led Michael, Ashton, Zayn, Luke, Niall, and Calum home, singing and whistling as they went. When the dwarfs reached their cottage the light was on—someone was in their house! They crept inside, and tiptoed upstairs to find Prince Louis fast asleep beneath their blankets.

“It’s a monster!” whispered Niall.

Stepping closer and lifting the cover from Louis’ face, Liam cried out, “Why it’s Prince Louis!”

Louis sat up and said, “How do you do?” He explained to the dwarfs why he was there and what the King had planned for him. “Don’t send me away!” he begged. “If you let me stay, I’ll wash and sew and sweep and cook,” Louis promised.

At that all but Michael shouted, “Hooray! He stays!”

“How do we know he’s not playing us?” Michael asked, glaring at the Prince in his bed.

“I promise you I’m not.” Louis answered.

“Come on Mikey,” Ashton said, being the only one to make his grumpiness go away with his happiness, “He’s going to do everything for us so we can work in the mine more!”

“Maybe we can finally get out of here and live like men!” Luke says, sneezing into his arm.

“Whatever,” Michael huffed.

The happy Prince kissed Michael’s cheek and ran to the kitchen to prepare dinner. The dwarfs rushed downstairs to eat, but Louis said, “Supper is not quite ready. You’ll just have time to wash.”
