17 and Depressed

Life is just a depressing piece of crap. My life is like that bruised apple that nobody wants but you accidentally got because you weren't paying close attention. All of my life I've been trying to be positive and succeed in facing my obstacles but lately I've just given up. People tell me I shouldn't be so glum since I'm only 17 but what do they know. I've got a lot of things going on in my life right now that people don't know anything about. Most 17 year olds are worried about senior projects or what college their boyfriends are going to so they can still see each other or when they're going to lose their virginity/ get a boyfriend. But I don't have time for that. My dad's in rehab, my mom's suffering from depression, my baby sister ran away with her older boyfriend that's a druggie, etc. AND IM SUPPOSED TO WORRY ABOUT LOVE? My life is pretty screwed right now but hey that's life! Besides, who still believes in love? People complain that this generation has lost true romance but who are the ones that raised us? Them. There hasn't been true love since 50's , in fact I don't think there was ever love. I mean sure, some people have found it but there's always one flaw. So, I don't believe in wasting my time like that.

Love. All I've been searching for my entire life. Most guys don't care about that right now but that's all I really need. I don't want a girl for what she can offer but for what we can share. I want to hold her and caress her whenever she needs me and I want to love her. And I know people throw around the word love like they're saying hello but I really mean it. My life has been pretty messed up but I can't give up hope and I never do. People say that true love doesn't exist anymore but how do they know? Nothing ever truly disappears, especially something you feel. Like the Beatles once said "All you need is love." Since, I heard that I decided to live by those lyrics and search for that. Someday soon I'll find love.
