A/N:  2.6k in a week?! We're already dealing with COVID and ya'll want to give me a heartattack?!! Thank you for the support as always.

I sat at my office desk with a fresh cup of coffee going through papers. The past three days have been pretty slow. It consisted of Ciro and I drinking out of boredom. Antonio and Romero leaving all the time for business ventures. It didn't matter how late it was, Antonio would come into my room and we would just talk for a bit before I went to bed. I was slowly warming up to him.

I heard someone walk into my office and swivel my rolling chair to face them.

Antonio.

"I'm about to go out with Jefe for a bit. Are those papers done for the men to sign it?"

I grabbed the manilla folder off my desk and gave it to him.

"Oh Mr. Ant, Can you please stop fucking random girls so close to my bedroom intentionally."

He winked and left the room.

Fucking asshole. Okay, I don't like him again.

Ciro walked in a few minutes after and looked at me as if I was an irresponsible toddler.

"You don't have to tell me all your business, Sweetheart. If anything, serious talk makes me sleepy." He rambled. "But why the fuck did I physically see Antonio walk into your room. Then I walk out in the hallway 30 minutes later and hear moaning from his room!"

Well damn. That sounds bad.

"You're gorgeous but gosh I kinda sick of seeing all these horny murderers flock to you, including my own damn cousin!"

I went to cut him off but he interrupted me swifty.

"I don't want to hear it. You and Reese have some weird sexual tension going on and I've never seen him act this way towards a female."

I slid down and out from my seat to the floor. I laid there with my arms splayed.

"I did not sleep with Antonio. He tried getting at me the first night. When he figured out that wasn't going to work, he later befriended me. I think he started bringing girls over to try and make me jealous, but he'll discover soon enough that I don't fuck with him like that."

Ciro helped me off the floor and placed his hands on the shoulders.

"Good, because I was about to kill him. I'm friends with him, but I like you more. And supposedly I'm the only other man besides Romero that treats you like a human being."

I laughed and gave him a hug.

"You know you're like the only friend I have?"

He bowed down to me.

"Yeah, because you loved surrounding yourself around assholes with desirable personalities. You can't do that. You can try being a different person all you want, but reality hits every time."

His words cut through me but I'll definitely remember them.

"Oh, do you know where they went?" I asked. Antonio told me they were leaving but never said where.

"I think to purchase some land around here that Tony was looking at. Romero and him will then go back to the sanctuary so they can sign over that tax deal you created."

Romero.

He has always been very polite to me for the most part. Sadistic but who isn't where I'm at.

"Is Romero in Mexico often?"

A lot of the stuff he provided for me in papers doesn't really mention Mexico recently.

"Not in the past three months. He's trying to build more political and economical power in Texas so he can smuggle more drugs in. Antonio has been down here."

"Well that makes sense. Tell him I need his banking information. I want to see his recent transactions."
His eyes went wide like he saw a ghost.

"Um-no. He keeps his private life very secret so that's a bad idea. He nearly killed someone for bringing him his binder. Good luck at getting that."

Well that's shitty.

"Thinking about it, I know where it is."

Ciro looked at me like I was an idiot.

"Then go get it dumbass."

I slapped his arm.

"Ouch Jade! What the f-"

"It's in his room so it's not that simple. He probably notices if the slightest thing has been touched."

Gosh, Why does this man keep looking at me like I'm dumb?

"Sometimes I forget that you're so naive to this life."

He took a seat on my desk.

"Grab your phone and take pictures of the current arrangement of his things, wear gloves just in case he likes to look at fingerprints. Then take pictures of what files you need, do NOT take them with you."

He's such a thief. Now that was a skill that I needed to acquire.

"Okay so when exactly should I do this?" I asked.

He walked out the room and came back with black gloves.

"Do it now! I'll make sure to text you if anyone arrives. Just be careful."

___________

I walked up the steps, pulling on the black gloves to hide fingerprints. Why was I doing this? I just knew I had to see his activity. I needed to know what was going on in Mexico prior to the warehouse catching on fire. He's in charge of so much but can't give some simple information? I found it kind of weird. Just wanted to get this craziness over it.

I took a deep breath before walking in. I knew that Antonio was a private man but I didn't know he could be so cruel either. To nearly kill someone over a binder. It felt suspicious. Why would he have that reaction. I opened the door and immediately started looking around. He had a briefcase with him so most likely it had the information that I needed.

"Where the fuck is this thing?"

I looked behind the bookcase so I took a picture where it laid exactly. The case surprisingly didn't have a lock so I opened it with ease. I checked inside to see his card transactions came from the past two weeks and grabbed them. I laid the pages on the dresser and took images of them all. I checked my notifications to see a text message from two minutes ago:

[Jade, they stopped by the house to get something. Hurry tf up 😡]

Shit, that was two minutes ago. I put the papers back in the correct order and closed the briefcase. I almost forgot it belonged behind the bookcase so I carefully placed it back where it belonged.

I heard footsteps come close to the door and I knew I was fucked. I also knew I only had one other option.

I took off the gloves and threw it out the window to fall in a bush outside. I sat in his bed and my anxiety was instantly replaced with fear as he opened the door. The confusion on his face glared in a very cold demeanor. It felt like he could see right through me. I had to play this one off/

"Why are you doing in my room, Flores?"

He's words felt like ice.

"Because..." I said as I took off my shirt, instantly exposing my skin to the chill of the room.

"Sé lo que quiero" (I know that I want)
