Master Pokku's POV
Some of my fellow tribesmen and myself were patrolling the water outside of the fortress for any for unwanted ships that we might try to break in. I saw one of my comrades squinting at the shore.
"Do you see something, Sanah?" I eyed him skeptically.
"Maybe, sir." He responded, still starring at the shore. "There's..something over there."
I followed his gaze, and saw a small dark figure laying in the snow. It might be a dead animal that we could eat. But we have enough food. I thought. I was about to ignore it and pass, but something in my gut told me not too.
"Ill go investigate," I used my bending to create a small ice boat, stepped inside of it, and bended the water to take me to the shore. As I approached my eyes widened. When I reached the beach I quickly stepped out if the boat and ran to the dark blob. I had been right. In front of me lied the limp form of a young child.
I checked his pulse as I motioned to my comrades to come. It took me a moment but he was definitely still alive, he wouldn't have been for very much longer if we had left him there. I scooped him into my arms and tried to warm him up. He looked around twelve or so years old and had a watertribe complexion alongside black fluffy hair. But he was scrawny, much to scrawny.
The boat arrived, and saw what I was holding. "Oh my goodness," One of the soldiers said quietly, his hand to his mouth.
"We need to get back NOW," I said forcefully, stepping into the boat. Everyone followed my lead. I found some blankets at the bottom of the boat and put it over him.
Soon we arrived at the fortress and a few warriors went ahead to alert the healers. When I reached the huts I was quickly ushered inside. The women checked his pulse, breathing etcetera. They wrapped him up in blankets and started a fire and positioned him in front of it. I guessed water wouldn't work for this situation. It happens sometimes.
One of the ladies, Ramha, said "I believe he'll wake up after a day or two, and fully recover within at most a week." I let out a silent sigh of relief. "But, I haven't seen him around. And neither have the other ladies. " She gestured at the other healers in the tent. "And what was he doing out there all alone in the cold?"
I starred at the floor thinking. "I suppose we'll just have to see what he says when he wakes up."
