30 minutes before the attack...

Melanie entered her kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee as she waited for Christopher to come send Adrian back to her. While waiting, she decided to Facetime her fiance.

"Hi bub," she cooed as his face popped onto the screen. "Hey baby," he smiled. "It's been so hectic here, how's things in Miami?" he asked her. "It's basic, like usual. The spa has been doing great," she told him.

"Chris is coming to send Adrian today," Melanie informed him. "Ah, tell him I said hi. I haven't seen him in a while. Maybe I'm back in Miami we could all hangout," Nick suggested and she nodded. "He has a girlfriend, she's literally the sweetest," she said again.

"Ah double date then!" he exclaimed and his fiancee laughed. "When are you coming back from New York?" she asked. "Not sure babe, there's a lot to do here. But I'll definitely be back for the wedding preparations," he told her sadly and she just nodded understandingly.

"Okay I have a meeting, I'll call you again tonight," he said and she nodded. "Bye babe, I love and I miss you," she said, blowing a kiss that he pretended to catch. "I love and miss you too," he said quickly before hanging up.

She put her phone down as she went to get her mug. Suddenly she heard the front door being forcefully opened. She quickly put the mug down and turned around, meeting a man dressed in all black, a hood over his head along with a black face mask.

"Who the fuck are you?" she muttered, clearly terrified. "You don't know me, but your baby daddy does," somehow she could hear his smirk behind the mask.

"And this, is his warning," he said before thrusting the knife into her stomach. Melanie gasped, feeling the pain kick in. The man pulled the knife out and she fell straight to the ground, helplessly.

He simply left the knife next to her on the ground before exiting the house. He wasn't scared that they'll find him because he left the weapon, he knew they wouldn't be able to find him; there's no fingerprints.

present time...

"Do you know anyone that could've possible wanted to do this to her?" the Inspector asked Christopher since he was the one who found her, and he's also the closest person for now since her fiance, Nick, isn't here yet.

"Not that I know of, no. She's not the type to have enemies," he responded. "Okay then, do you know when her fiance is coming?" she asked again. "Maybe later today, I'm not sure. He's flying in from New York," he responded and the Inspector nodded, excusing herself while Christopher headed back to Karina and his friends.

Everyone came over. Richard had left Aaliyah and Adrian with Yocelyn for a while. They were all quite close to Melanie and the news of her getting attacked was quite a shock.

"Are you here for Melanie Flores?" a doctor asked as he entered the waiting room the friends were at. Tini quickly stood up, along with Christopher. "We're her friends. Her fiance isn't here yet," Tini said in behalf of all of them.

"Well, she's currently recovering," he said and they let out a sigh of relief, "thankfully you found her in time or she probably wouldn't have made it. But there's a bad news," he said and everyone turned their attention completely to him.

"What is it?" Christopher asked nervously. The doctor sighed. "She had a miscarriage," he said sadly. "What?" a voice was heard from behind the doctor and they all turned to look. It was Nick. "My fiancee was pregnant?" he asked, his voice cracking. "You didn't know?" Tini asked him and he shook his head.

Melanie didn't tell anyone she was pregnant. Heck, she didn't even know. She lost a baby she didn't even know she was carrying.

The doctor let them see her, and Nick rushed to her side instantly. She was weak, and devastated. "I'm sorry," she said to Nick as tears streamed down her face. "It's okay, it's okay, it wasn't your fault," he said to her.

Everyone in the room could feel how sad and heartbroken the couple were. Christopher couldn't help but think that if he would've arrived sooner, maybe he could've saved Melanie and Nick's baby.
