In this one, you're both about 15, and he did not travel to the apocalypse but is still extremely intelligent and snarky.

"Need some help?" You turned around to see a dark haired, short boy around your age behind you. Without asking he sat himself across the table from you and took your notebook.

"It's supposed to be x=0.578, not .0578." He stated plainly when the waitress brought a steaming black coffee and pink donut with sprinkles to the table. He nodded and took a sip.

"Are you a regular at Griddy's, here I mean?" You questioned, confused but quite interested.

"Pretty much. I come here almost everyday to get away from my rat-pack siblings." He handed the math textbook back. "What's your name?"

"Y/N. And yours?"

"Five. Yes that's my real name. But I like yours must better." He face was empty of emotion, except for a faint smirk.

"Well, nice to meet you Five." You said, beginning to stand up and leave. "Thanks for the help."

"You know, I could help you again sometime. Not to assume you need help, but, just in case." Five said, standing up with you.

He wrote his number down on a napkin and handed it to you, "If you ever need some assistance, call me, and we can meet right back in this spot."

You both waved goodbye and walked opposite ways home.

You did in fact call Five again. All the time, not because you needed help, but because you began to like him. You learned more about him and much less about math. His favorite color was black, like his coffee. He had 6 siblings, one of which was dead. He was incredibly smart and detail oriented. And his favorite donut was pink with sprinkles, because, and he quotes "All else of the world is so dark, pink is the liveliest color I could think of."

This went on for a few weeks, until finally one day he caught you.

"You never need my help." Five said.

"I don't know what you mean. I call you all the time, which obviously means I need the help with work." You said hiding your nerves.

"No you don't. You know this material. I can tell. Whenever you lie, you you cross your fingers. I see it everytime you play dumb." Five stared at you intently, waiting for an answer.

"You pay that much attention to me?" You questioned smirking.

"I pay that much attention to everybody. You included." He took a sip of his coffee.

"Well, Five, then why do I call you to Griddy's?" You took a bite of his donut.

"Because you like me, Y/N. And you know I like you too."

You choked on his donut, basically dying and having a coughing fit. The entire cafe turned to look at you. You turned red.

"Well, only 1/2 of that statement is true."

"You don't like me?" Five's face looked worried.

"No. I didn't know you liked me back." You smiled.

"Really? I thought it was obvious." He said oblivious and you laughed.

"Five, your facial expression changes maybe once a week, and I've seen probably two emotions from you these past few weeks," you sighed, "If anything, it looks like you don't like me."

"I'm sorry I seemed that way." This was the first time ever Five had apologized. "I promise I do like you, despise my overall un-bothered approach." He seemed to blush and looked away.

"Well, maybe you can make it up to me. How about next week we go on an official date. This time without the homework." You joked.

"It's a deal."
