Mark glanced out the window, eyes unfocusing and focusing on the persistent raindrops racing each other down the glass pane of the hospital.

I'm so tired, he blankly thought as he pulled pill bottles off of the shelves in the pharmaceutical room, putting together Chenle's daily prescriptions to bring to the patient's room. Normally they would be handed out with breakfast, but Chenle had passionately refused to get out of his room this morning and, instead of punishing the poor boy, Dr. Qian just told Mark to give him the pills in his room.

Mark, of course, didn't oppose the command and set off before Donghyuck had the chance to offer to do it. He carefully took the pills out of the package and popped them into the small plastic cup. His thoughts briefly turned to Jeno.

The clear jealousy and betrayal on his face after he had caught Jaemin talking to him broke Mark's heart. Not only because he didn't want to hurt Jeno, but because he wanted Jeno to trust him. To trust him even when he couldn't trust himself. Of course he had soothed the younger student's fears that he loved him and only him, but there was hesitation in his mind as he thought of Chenle.

And he hated himself for it.

But how the hell was he supposed to decipher what was reality and fantasy when he craved for both lives but wanted to dispel each life at the same time?

Right, Jeno and Chenle.

Mark shook his head and placed his hands on the counter. He had already decided that they were how he was going to fit this long and messy puzzle together. Or, perhaps, this method would only serve to tear this puzzle to pieces.

"Mark, what the hell are you doing?"

Mark's head sprung up and he looked to his left, surprised and confused as Jungwoo was staring at him with disappointment and a hint of anger. "W-What?" Jungwoo let out a strained sigh and took the plastic cup, dumping the contents into the garbage next to the counter.

"Mark, I understand that you're tired, but this is dangerous," Jungwoo gently moved Mark to the side and pulled out different pill bottles, putting the ones that Mark was using back. Mark watched with dull shock as Jungwoo put the new pills into the small plastic cup and neatly cleaned up afterwards. "Make sure you're actually giving the patients their prescribed pills. Especially people like Renjun and Chenle because there are specific pills that will worsen their condition and ones that do nothing to help them."

"Sorry, it won't happen again," Mark apologized and found he really couldn't say anything else. That type of thing shouldn't even be a mistake. He was sure that if anyone besides Jungwoo or Donghyuck had caught his slip up he would have been suspended from his internship. What was he even doing spacing off like that on the job?

"It better not. Get yourself together Mark," Jungwoo scolded sternly, his full lips pulled into a firm line as he handed the cup to Mark, turning to walk out of the room. Mark looked dejectedly at the rightly chosen pills in the cup and fought the urge to cry. It was getting too hard for him to keep continuing on like this.
