THE drive to their destination was not exactly long but it felt as if it was taking them a decade to arrive there.

Because it is already killing Ridge inside. After all, after he and Zamiel argued about stealing a kiss from each other, it became undeniable that they were embraced by silence.

An awkward, painful silence.

E kaso, mali naman kasi talaga iyong ginawa nila pareho.

Best friends don't kiss. Let alone, male friends - well, that is actually based on Zamiel's perspective. Still, he understand and he respects his friend's sexuality.

Meanwhile, while Ridge does not mind kissing a man, kissing your own best friend on the lips without their permission is wrong. He also invalidated his own feelings and sexuality to get out of that mess.

His course of action should be offensive.

And, Zamiel already announced before that he respects him. With that, Ridge should be able to see the line Zamiel drew between them.

He should have known better not to cross that line.

But okay.

A part of him kept on invalidating Zamiel's usual response that men should not kiss, best friends should not kiss, men should not blah, blah, blah.

Then again, another part of him kept on arguing that Zamiel might just be... curious about kissing him on the cheek.

And the latter is frustrating.

"Ridge, turn to the left."

Pinasadahan niya ng mabilis na tingin si Zamiel nang magsalita ito.

Nakahalumbaba si Zamiel sa may bintana at nakaharap sa cellphone. Mukhang tinitignan sa google maps ang pupuntahan nila.

Nevertheless, he still followed the male's instructions.

It was then when Zamiel let out a huff before he turned to Ridge whose eyes are focused on the road.

"Are you mad?" Tanong nito na ikinagulat naman ni Ridge.

He paused for a bit before he took a short glance at his friend, looking surprised and confused.

"Why the fuck are you asking me that?" Hindi niya makapaniwalang tanong, "ako dapat nagtatanong niyan."

"Really." Tumango-tango ito. "I don't mind the kiss. It's no big deal so I'm fine."

Anong pinagsasasabi nitong wala itong pakialam sa ginawa niya?

He should be bothered.

Or so, maybe Zamiel just did not want to tell him because he would hurt his feelings—which he does not really mind! At all!

He knows he's wrong!

"Don't act like I didn't do something you should be upset of," Ridge soon muttered, just enough for Zamiel to hear, "in fact, I'm waiting for you to give me a threat that you'd punch me on the face."

Itinigil ni Ridge ang sasakyan nang may mahakot ulit sila sa mini traffic. Matapos iyon, tinignan niya si Zamiel na mataman pala siyang pinagmamasdan.

"I should have not kissed you," he finally said, "but I played along with the childish play and ended up doing it. I'm sorry."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Zamiel sa sinabi niya.

At kung lolokohin ni Ridge ang sarili, posible ring nakita niyang nasaktan ang binata dahil doon.
