A Match Not Made In Heaven

Chapter 9

In the Heavenly realm,
"Mother, you called for me?" Wang cho says
"Come here dear," Heaven empress pats the bed next to her.
Wang Cho walks and sits next to her,
"Wang Cho, Your father told me you had someone whom you like," Heaven empress whispers
"MOTHER WHAT!? NO!" Want Cho says
"Your father told me!" Heaven empress says
"Mother, I don't like anyone, I don't fancy anyone, I don't have eyes for anyone!"
"Well, why are you getting angry!? We are just making sure that you wouldn't have any problems with marriage!" Heaven empress says
"Mother, I really appreciate your and your father's consideration, but it's just...... getting..... irritating... all we have talked about for the last two weeks was if I liked anyone!" Wang Cho mumbles.
"Want cho, do you know why I only had you and had no more children?" Heaven empress says
"Why?" Wang Cho asks
"In a royal family, when the king has more than one son, the sons hate each other because of the throne, they try to earn their father's favor and  even get each other in trouble so that they ensure their fathers favor sometimes they can even kill each other!" Heaven empress says
"But, you could have had a girl," Wang Cho says
"You never know what the gender of the baby is, so, I didn't want you to fight with any brothers, you were my first child, the first happiness, but I decided that you should be the only one," Heaven empress says
"I understand, mother," Wang Cho says
"So, I don't want you to have any kind of trouble, what if, after your father arranges your marriage, you fall in love with someone else? Wouldn't that be a lot of trouble?" Heaven empress says
"I get it, mother. If I ever feel a glimpse of affection for anyone, you will be the first to know," Wang Cho says
"Don't be shy." Heaven empress says
"Who's shy!?" Wang Cho says
Heaven empress laughs.
"I'm leaving!" Wang Cho says as he leaves,
In the mortal realm,
I wake up from the sunlight hitting my face
Ah, I forgot to close the curtains yesterday, I think
I get up since it'll be too hard to fall back asleep,
I head downstairs to the living room.
But I see Min Jae leaving,
Where is he going so early in the morning? I think
It's 6 am,
"Oh Mr. Lee, where are you going so early in the morning?" I ask
"Oh, you're up, I am going for a run," he says
A run? I think,
"See you later," he says as he leaves
Why is he running for no reason? I never run.
What is this? I think
I decide to visit ji hwa since I have nothing to do,
In the demon realm,
I entered ji hwa's bedchamber, she's not here so I'll just wait.
She finally came.
She came in but screamed as soon as she saw me,
"OH MY! YOU STARTLED ME!" She says
"Aren't you used to it by now?" I say
I always come in and wait for her, and she always freaks out when she sees me,
"How's the mortal realm?" She says
"It's fun," I say
"Oh, you have called nothing fun for a while, tell me," I say
"You see, I met this mortal guy, and he lives with us-" I say
"WHAT!?" She interrupts
"What?" I say
"I see, you are picking up mortal guys already," she says with a flirty look
"Ew, no but there's something about him," I say
"What?" She asks
"I can't see his soulmate." I say
"What do you mean?" She says
"I can't see his soulmate!" I say
"Does he not have one?" She asks
"That's impossible," is say
"Maybe you got it wrong?" She says
"No, I shook his hand three times! At first I thought I might have got it wrong then the second I thought maybe I wasn't concentrating enough, but the third time I REALLY couldn't see his soulmate," I say
"What is this? How can this happen?" She says
"Anyway, Let's keep it short, I don't want to be away for too long, why don't you come with me? It's boring to be there alone," I say
"Sure!" She says
"Oh, just like that? I thought I had-" I  say
"Not really, I am the youngest, the least needed, so my father doesn't object much," she says
"How lucky," I say
We take off back to the mortal realm,
"Oh, it's raining!" Ji hwa says
"We're in October, it shouldn't be raining," I say
"Well, I don't know,"  ji hwa says
"You don't seem that surprised seeing the mortal realm," I say
"I have been here countless times," she says
"I see,"  I say
We went back to my room,
Since we only spent two minutes in the demon realm, only a couple of hours have passed here in the mortal realm,
We went back to living room and I see Min Jae rushing out again,
It would be too rude to ask again no? I think
"Is that him?" Ji hwa asks
I nod.
"Did he really come to you himself or did you drag him?" She asks
"Why would I drag a mortal?" I say
"Just saying, he looks too handsome to come himself," she says
"What nonsense are you spouting?" I say
"Nothing," she says
We sat down,
"What's his name?" She asks
"Min Jae," I say
"I mean, why not have some fun while we are here," she says
"You need to shut up," I say
"So lame, I'll have fun by myself then," she says
"Don't you do anything to him," I say
"Why?" She asks
"I need to know why I can't see his soulmate," I say
"Maybe it was a mistake?" I say
"The spiritual realm would never make such a mistake," I say
"Well, suit yourself," she says
"Then why are you here?" I say
"What do you mean? She says
"You will help me," I say
"What ever," she says

Meanwhile,
"I can't believe you won first place," Kyung Seok says
"Me either," Woo yeong says
"Isn't it beautiful?" Joon says
"She really is," Kyung seok says
Joon hits kyung seok on his head
"The painting!" Joon says
"That girl can be a model, why don't you bring her here?" Kyung seok says
"Shut up, that would be too much," Min jae says
"That's a shame," woo yeong says
Seo Joon, Do kyung seok, Yeon Woo yeong and me. We have been friends since high school, but me and Joon knew each other in middle school though we weren't friends, then Mi So came as joon's girlfriend along with Kang Soo Rae or Rina, now we are freshmen in college, I am in the visual arts department as well as woo young and kyung seok while, Rina and Joon are in the performing arts department, Mi So is majoring in psychology in a college nearby.  Min Jae thinks.
Me, kyung seok and woo young opened up an art studio, well it was my idea and they joined along, so I have put all my money into the studio, so I got back and rent and left my house, I can't tell my father or else he'll go again about how I should join the family business, I don't like business nor do I want to work in it; he thinks my art is just child's play, Min jae thinks
"I'm getting coffee, anyone?" Woo yeong says
"I'll have an Americano," kyung seok says
"Double vanilla latte," Joon says
"I'll have a matcha tea," Min jae says
"I'm leaving," woo yeong says
Meanwhile,
I was walking outside, the rain already stopped, but I like the smell of the rain,
When it rains or after, it smells like a garden; I like that smell,
In the Heavenly realm,
"Wang Cho, it seems like the former demon lord's mount have been causing trouble in the mortal realm, I need you to take care of it," Heaven lord says
"Yes, your majesty," Wang Cho says
"Do it as soon as possible, I dismiss you," Heaven lord says
"I'll do it today, your majesty," Wang Cho says as leaves.
Let's get this done right away, Wang Cho thinks
Wang Cho heads directly to the mortal realm,
Where's he?? Wang Cho thinks
A man dressed in black passes by,
You can hide your face but you can't hide your aura, Wang Cho thinks
Wang Cho follows him to somewhere in the mountains,
"Golden lion beast!" Wang Cho says as he draws his sword forward.
"Who are you?" Lion beast says
"Wang Cho, crown prince of Nine Heavens," Wang Cho says
He immediately attacks Wang Cho
"A backstabber! Just like your master!" Wang Cho says
The fight goes on for hours,.
"I have avoided Heaven clan for 70,000 years! Why are you pushing me so hard!"
"Retribution for sin," Wang Cho says
