ZAYDA CHANCE SMITHwas five when she moved to the South Side of Chicago from The Bronx. She quickly befriended her next-door neighbor, Kevin Williams, and his two other friends, Jake Taylor, and Papa. Her life was pretty normal until she witnessed the death of a young teenager on a walk home from school with her friends and that's when her life drastically changed.
