"Vlad, you can’t ignore this forever." 

"I am not ignoring it simply because it was never a discussion to begin with." Vlad insisted locking eyes with Anna. 

"How was it never a discussion? The day you saved me, you didn’t want me to be like you but you changed your mind that night. Why change it again?" Anna questioned resting her hand gently on Vlad’s shoulder. 

"For numerous reasons." 

"Like what? What could be stopping you?" 

"I lost everything I had to this curse. I lost my family, friends, and my home." Vlad replied distancing himself away from Anna as he took a deep breath in adding, "I must go. I need to think." 

"Vlad, please don’t go!" Anna pleaded yet like a gust of wind Vlad was long gone. 

 Anna knew she had made a mistake the moment he disappeared into the wind. She had pushed him too far. Why couldn’t he understand that she is just like him? Why doesn’t he really see how much they have in common? Anna was all alone until Vlad saved her that night. Now she pushed him away. Anna knew there was only one thing she could do. She pulled out her phone dialing the most familiar number she knew. 

"Lailia Van Helsing" 

"Do you really answer your phone like that?" 

"Well since you got bitten, I do." 

"Wait? How do you know?" 

"Honey, I am Helsing. I know everything that happens."

"Lailia, please? I need you." 

"I’m always here. You want me to leave a window open?" 

"Aren’t you so funny? Yes," Anna said dryly hanging up. 

After a few minutes, Anna was on her way to Lailia. She needed her best friend. She needed to get the best opinion of anyone, that was definitely Lailia. Anna relaxed herself as she listened to the world around her. She could hear the birds chirping in the trees, the cars rushing by, and the nightlife fully alive. Anna always loved the night not for the party life but for the most beautiful thing of all, the stars. The stars were her escape for everything. They were her escape when she ran into the forest after her family’s murder. 

"Vlad." 

Anna’s form disintegrated into hundreds of bats and flew off heading toward the voice Anna knew all too well, Mia’s voice. She landed few feet away on top of a building looking for Mia. She found Mia talking to none other than Vlad. She listen closely to their conversation. 

"Why think separately of this life and the next…" Vlad spoke 

"When one is born from the last."  Mia finished as she kissed Vlad. 

"Bastard," Anna whispered.  Vlad’s eyes shot up seeing Anna on top of the building before she disappeared into the night. 

"I must go." 

"This is a last goodbye then." 

"Yes it is. Goodbye." 

Hundreds of bat flew into Lailia’s window reforming themselves into Anna as Lailia stared onward in amazement. She had seen many thing in her time but she hadn’t gotten to see the transformation before. 

"You know I meant using the window as a jo… What wrong?" 

"Vlad. He was with Mia. They were kissing." 

"Why don’t you sit down and tell me what happened?" 

"No, we have to board the door please? He will come looking for me." 

Lailia didn’t argue with what her friend requested. She knew it was no good at the moment. She lined all the ways you could enter her house with silver dust which was basically silver coin grated down into a powder form she could use in many ways. 

"All done. Now rocky road, maple walnut, or Oreo cookie n cream?" 

"Rocky Road." 

Lailia walked back into the front room handing over the Rocky Road as she keep the cookies n cream for herself. She waited for Anna to start to tell her story from the beginning. 

"The old vampire." 

"You mean Master Vampire?" 

"Yes, he showed up telling me that he was the one who killed my family. He was using me to make Dracula go back to the way he use to be. Used me to turn him into a monster. I told him I’d never help so he killed me. Dracula brought me back to life." 

"What is the problem though?" 

"I have three days. Well I only have one more day. If by midnight tomorrow, I don’t drink human blood, I will become human again. Vlad doesn’t want me to be vampire like him but I do. I want to. He thinks that I shouldn’t because he is monster and he has nothing. Yet he doesn’t realize that all I have is him and you." 

"What happen with Mia?" 

"I saw them talking then Mia kissed him" 

"Do you really think he went back to her?"

"I don’t know what to think any more. My whole world is completely out of whack." 

"Do you really want to change?" 

"Yes."

"Then how about this? You talk to Vlad about how you really feel. You find out first what happen between him and Mia. If he agree with you on becoming a vampire, I will be one you drink from. But you do understand if you change, I will have to watch over you. If you step out of bounds, you know what I will have to do."

"Yes." 

"Good cause he is outside the front door," Lailia spoke right as rapping was gently heard. Lailia rose up from her seat to let Vlad in after she removed the silver from the door. 

"Silver was nice touch." Vlad spoke. 

"Thanks. She’s in there. I’ll wait in the kitchen." 

As Vlad rounded the corner, he was taken off guard by slap to the face. Vlad was quite in shock by Anna’s sudden feisty will. He knew she was also strong but damn that hurt he thought. “Sit down and listen to what I have to say before you say a word or so help me God-” Anna spoke up. Vlad sat down instantly not questioning Anna at all. He thought it was best not to get in the way of Anna when she was mad. 

"Vlad, I won’t even touch the subject of Mia right now. I want to explain to you why I feel I need to change. You have nothing. I have nothing. Yet we have each other. I want to be the one thing you have. I want you to be the one thing I have. That is why I want to be with you forever. I love you very much Vlad. I love you more than anything, more than time itself. You are the only person I can see spending eternity with.  Lailia is willing to be the one who offer her blood to me for me to change. Now please say something."

"The moment you saw me with Mia was her and my final goodbye. I told her that I had found love that I had never known was there until it was almost too late. I understand why you want to change. Hear me out on this, wait three months and if after those three months, you want to still be with me then I will turn you again. You can drink from Lailia to become like me." 

"Is that even possible?" 

"I believe it is because you’ll still be human." Lailia spoke poking her head around the corner. 

"Then yes. I take your deal but I am still mad at you for kissing her."

"I don’t care. As long as I have you, I could care less about anything else." Vlad stated pulling Anna into a gentle kiss.
