I watched from the patio as Micko played with the kids. Innocent and Asa were on the lawn of the Sanctuary. Micko was teaching them little magic tricks that they seemed to enjoyed. Simple basics of Sacrificial magic like healing yourself after a self-inflicted wound. They enjoyed it though. I saw how Innocent looked at his father. They looked so much alike. I never saw him so happy as he was now. The feeling about it seemed to warm my heart really. It had been two days since Micko had been cured. We had checked him and rechecked him. No demons. He was safe to be around the kids and he seemed to want to spend every second with Innocent.

"Didn't know you stayed behind."

I turned to see Rio standing there. I was shocked to see him around and the fact that he was actually speaking to me blew my mind. I didn't have a good relationship with my twin brother. I never did and never thought I would. Him standing here right now just felt a little weird.

"Stayed behind from what?" I asked.

"Brandon took everyone demon hunting. He's leading a charge all around the island looking for Mickson and any reports of demons."

"Who went with him?'

"Everyone. Our coven and the visitors..."

A majority of the Queen's people had gone but the Queen herself had stayed behind with some people who she thought would help us. One of them happened to be Regis Ramon. I was actually grateful that she was choosing to help us. Things could have gone really wrong when Whyte fought Regis.

"You stay behind because you didn't trust Asa with Micko?" I asked my brother.

I turned to him.

Rio shook his head surprisingly, "No. Micko's great with kids. I actually fully trust him. Things with me and Melody are kind of weird lately. I just needed my space."

"Trouble in paradise?"

"She is pressuring me to challenge Brandon for leadership of the coven," he stated.

"Sounds like Melody..."

Ever since I knew Melody she was determined to be on top. No one else in the coven was so eager to lead and be the best as she was. She was probably the most competitive person I knew and it was actually kind of annoying.

Rio shook his head and looked over at me, "What do you think of Brandon being the leader of the coven?"

Rio and I NEVER had these kind of conversations. The fact that he was standing next to me and talking to me seemed to have a point. He seemed unsure of what he should do. Rio was all talk and no action. He never seemed to have balls to take on certain things. I thought Brandon wasn't a great leader but I was pretty sure Rio would be an even worse leader.

I wasn't going to throw it in his face now. No sense in being mean about it.

"It doesn't matter what I think," I told him trying to drop the conversation around Brandon, "He's the leader. Unless you and Melody want to go up against Genesis I wouldn't even bring it up. Genesis has his full support."
"Does he?"

"What do you mean?"

He shook his head as though knowing something but deciding not to talk on it, "Nevermind. Look I didn't want to bother you. I just really wanted to let you know that I'm happy for you. Micko is back. Everything is back to normal. I wanted to put our issues aside even if just to say that."
I didn't know how to feel about it. I should have been touched. I should have been happy about it but instead I was just sitting there confused about it all. It was more complicated then he thought.

"I don't know that. It's been five years since Micko and I have been together..."

"The kind of love the two of you has doesn't die. C'mon, we are all jealous of your relationship with him. None of our relationships hold a candle to that. You guys were the prototype."
