“Laelynn, Laelynn, Laelynn!” I don’t know when I woke up or how I got to the corner of my room, I don’t know why I’m drenched in sweat and shaky. The room is blurry, and I feel very sick and dizy. But I still yell her name, as I am yelling she runs into my room.

“Alex? Please just breath please just calm down” she whispered to me while her arms where wrapped around my neck. “It’s okay, it’s okay”.  As she rubbed my sweaty head I took a quick look around my room and notice the broken lamp she bought me on the floor.  This made me more sad than it really should of.

“Alex just keep breathing it’s okay I’m here” she cooed to me, she was wearing underwear and one of my old shirts her hair was wet my guess she was in the shower before this.

“I’m sorry I think I broke your lamp”

She pulls away and looks at the lamp “Alex I don’t really care, I’m the one who’s sorry”.  This didn’t sound right at all, I’m the one having an episode and braking things, I’m 24 this shouldn’t be happing anymore. “I heard you yell my name, and you sounded like you were in pain” as she talks to me she looks at me and brushed my hair back repeatedly, I always found this a calming action on hers, other girls have done this in the past but not like her. “I never want to hurt you”.

She digs her head into my shoulder, I feel her guilt but it’s unneeded because I don’t even remember why I was yelling her name, I don’t even remember what caused all this, I never did. This was always a big problem, I never figured out the root of the problem. I don’t know for sure but she is the last person I could see harming me. “No, no you weren’t hurting me I promise, don’t worry I’m ok now I know it was just a, a really crazy dream.”

“I don’t want you to be in pain” her head is still dug in to my shoulder and her arms where wrapped around my neck. No matter how many times I felt her, her touch is one of the most calming things in the world.

“I know, I know” I rub her back and we sit on the floor blessing each other with touch.
