Have you ever sat beside the fire and watched the flames? I mean really watch them.

You'll notice the way the flames mingle with the firewood. They're always so close to each other. Its like they're dancing or they're two lovers caught in an embrace.

Maybe thats what they are: two lovers. Maybe she's the fire and he's the wood.

Maybe he spends his days basking in her heat and drinking her in through his pores while she slowly consumes him but he's powerless to stop her. Even if he could, he doesn't want to and eventually she takes everything. But I think if you asked that piece of firewood, what he'd do if God gave him legs to run, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't use them.

I'm pretty sure that even after he's met her, felt her heat and she's burnt his skin, he couldn't find the strength to use those legs and run; run far away and never look back.

Sometimes there isn't any logic to it all. Sometimes common sense becomes completely irrelevant when you look into her eyes. Sometimes it just feels good to burn.

This is going to be my second attempt at a novel on this site, and I'm hoping it goes well.

This story is basically going to be a romance told from the males point of view.

Vote, comment, let me know what you think and whether or not you like the direction the story is going and if you're interested in me continuing it.

Thank you ❤
