Life isn't fair. In fact the whole concept of life is unfair. It's twists and turns of bumpy roads bring people nearly to the edge of their lives. Things happen and it's a pain in the a**.
Society.
Society is another thing that's unfair. Society tries to mold us in this nonexistent person. These standards are ridiculously high and could only be accomplished by a perfect person. As if we humans are perfect, with how much we have invented you could only assume since war and destruction is still upon us. In this society a power was practically an necessity. You were consider abnormal without it.
Imagine. A world where heroes are present and the pages of comic books are brought to life. Heroes soar through the skies and zoom past the streets. It's an amazing sight to see! But just like there's a night and day, there's evil lurking in the shadows. Villains are born and created into this world. Not everyone is as fortune to be blessed with a loving household and a fortunate life as others. And not everyone sees the value in life.
Thus everyone on earth is either good or bad. Simple right? It's like black and white. Your either evil or good. But then there's people in the gray area of them being both with some morals. So crime isn't as simple as black and white. There's always a gray line somewhere between the good and bad. Y/n had understand this. Not everything is as simple as one or two or black and white. There's always more to the story than what we know. There's always a reason and sometimes there just isn't a reason to be good or bad. Sometimes even heroes aren't as simple as we read or see. There's always a gray area, a mix of both within us.
Y/n tried to understand those wise words of her grandfather. But how could she understand when she's only seen black and white? Where was that gray area her grandfather spoke about? Why can't crime and heroes be as simple as black and white? Good and bad? It was a lesson she tried to apply even as she grew up and became a vigilante.
Y/n grew up in a small town where heroes rarely visited and crime was limited. Nothing much happened in the streets like comic books made it seem, at least not in her town. She was able to walk everyday from school to home without being paranoid. But what really stood about Y/n was one thing. And no, not because her personality was different or she wore makeup or what not. No, she was different for one reason.
She didn't have a power.
About 90% of the population had a power they were born with. It happen after an accident happen many years ago. Chaos erupted the earth causing chaos to roam the grounds. Governments scrambled around wondering what to do. It wasn't until nearly 2 generations later did people step up to do something about it. Yes they were heroes. Illegal but they helped ease those fears. Eventually the government came up with laws and rules for heroes to follow. Not wanting them to just run free without a leash.
Now the other 10% of the population didn't have one. The accident that happened years ago was a nuclear bomb incident. It happened when many countries grew tense with each other and decided to fire them. The first place to do it was the United States but for once it was an accident. The rocket malfunction causing it to explode, a war broke out. Only 10 percent of the population didn't get mutated like the other 90 percent.
