Chapter 21

Arjun's POV:

At night.

Lying on the bed facing the ceiling and thinking about the love of your life. Wow, Arjun when did you become a lovesick puppy. I know when. Since I meet Riya.

Picking the pillow beside me I hugged it to my chest. Dad said he will speak to Agarwal uncle about us. I hope he agrees with the arrangement.

I was broken from my thinking by a ringing sound. It's my phone. Still dazed in the thoughts of Riya I accepted the call with seeing who is it.

"Hello?"

"Is this Arjun?"

I rolled on the bed, "Yes speaking."

"Namaste beta, I'm Riya's father..."

My eyes widened at the mention of Riya. I jerked from head hitting my head to the headboard. Ouch!

Rubbing the spot I cursed myself, "Ha namaste uncle."

"Are you ok beta I heard some noise."

I slapped my head for being so clumsy and loud. "Ji uncle nothing it's just some noise outside."

"Oh okay okay. Anyway, I want to thank you properly. In this all Gautam's chaos, I didn't get the chance to appreciate you. Shall we meet tomorrow.....if you are free then only." Uncle asked uncertainly.

My stomach churned with excitement. Riya's father as in my father in law wants to meet me!!!

"Yes uncle, of course, I'm free after college. You can come to my house uncle." I couldn't contain the overwhelmed feeling.

"And with all your family members uncle," I added discreetly wishing Riya to come.

"Is it okay beta I mean your father might be busy..."

"No uncle you can come at 4 in the evening."

"Okay beta. Goodnight then."

"Yeah uncle good night."

After cutting the call I breathed in relief.
Then I scrambled to my Dad.

"Dad Dad!" I yelled with happiness. But he is not present in his room. I went to the balcony present in his room but still, he is not there. Where could he be? Scratching the beard I thought of it.

Hearing the juggling sound of doorknob I turned around the backside. Dad came from the bathroom with the towel wiping his face. I mentally slapped myself. Oh God how can I forget about the bathroom?

"Arjun what happened?" Dad asked me. Suddenly remembering the reason for me coming here. "Dad Dad Riya's father called me. He wants to meet us." I confessed.

"Okay.." Dad answered with a confused look. "We can talk about alliance right?" I tried to convey my message to him. Dad chuckled at me, keeping the towel at the couch arm he sat on it. I sat opposite to him on the center table. "Arjun you love Riya so you are excited about it. But what about Riya. She is not in a position to accept another alliance. How can we propose it?"

I thought for a moment about it. I think Dad is right. "Yeah Dad I can understand." I sighed defeated. "But you don't lose hope beta you waited for so long Riya now wait for 2-3 months." Dad patted my shoulder and got up.

Yeah, I can wait for few months, "Till that time try to impress her. Sweep her off feet." He wiggled his eyebrows. I chuckled at him, shaking my head.
