The stench of charred scales and flesh filled the room. Sapphire and crimson liquid swirled together; mixing into a purplish color that melted in with the rain that poured into the room from the ceiling like a waterfall, flooding the floor with water that measured a foot deep. The blast of thunder, the snarls of a reptile, the roar of raging fires, the grumble of shifting earth, and the battle cries of five men all rang through the night, only to be drowned out by the rain that pounded heavily on the ground.
Another gigantic section fell from the ceiling, crashing down loudly into the water, and fiercely shook the ground. The shock made me loose my footing, and I slipped into the bloody water. I struggled to my feet, using my swords to hold me up.
Fear dove once more at me, and I struggled to bring up Frost Bite to deflect her swinging claw. The man dressed in black jumped in front on me and drove his glowing blade into the ground. A pillar of pure marble shot up and pierced through Fear's hand. The dragon screeched a horrible noise. She flapped her mighty wings and pushed with her free feet, desperately trying to get away.
I took this chance and ran forward, dragging my blades in the marble submerged in water. I jumped in the air, using the remains of my wings to gain extra height. When I reached the highest I could stand, I fell. I shouted out as I dragged my blades into Fear's head. My blades went in until their handles were the only things sticking out.
Fear gave a fierce shriek and tossed her head around. I jumped from her swinging head to the ground and watched in awe as her skin left of Frost Bite turned to pure ice, and anything to the right of Guilty Blade turned pure black. The side of Fear that was covered in ice started to crack, and the darkened side bubbled.
The men in ninja uniforms walked up and next to me, awe in their eyes, though the one in blue had a face that showed more disgust than anything.
Another shriek racked my head, and pain followed. I fell to my knees, and caught myself before I fully slammed into the ground. I shook violently as the ninja in red helped me up, still watching our enemy.
As quick as a flash, Fear exploded.
Ice chunks flew everywhere, and black liquid splashed into the blood filled water at our feet.
I blinked twice before I realized what happened. I smiled faintly, and stood straight. I breathed heavily and noticed a trickle of blood come from a cut on my forehead. I had a burn on my left leg too, but I wasn't focused on that.
I looked to each of the men's eyes, and noticed their elements in their irises.
"You saved me. Why?" I asked softly.
"Well you are technically our nephew. Zane and Lloyd were our 'brothers' after all." The one in blue said with a smirk. "I'm Jay Walker, the Ninja of Lightning."
"I'm Kai Flamey, Ninja of Fire." The one in red said as he patted my shoulder.
"And I'm Cole Brookstone, the Ninja of Earth." The one in black finished and shook my hand.
"You're a good swordsman." Kai observed, staring at my swords that had landed in the water. Fear's blue blood clung to them, despite the water that tried to wash it off.
"Thank you… I noticed that you have a sword as well."
"Oh, this?" He held up the golden handled sword with the strange glowing blade. A sudden burst of fire enveloped the sword, and quickly went out.
"Yeah. It's cool how you can make it burst into lames like that." I said as I got a closer look at the ruby eyes in the dragon's head.
"Well, your swords can either freeze or make something turn into a black, bubbling ooze. That's got to be something." Cole stated as he leaned on his sword.
