"Do you think it safe to talk to my brother?" Fire Lord Zuko asked me.

I rollef the sleeve of my asylum nurse uniform. "Safe? Yes. Advisable? No." I messed with the bracelet on my wrist. "He may not recognize you..." I twisted the ring on my finger. "He doesn't recognize me anymore..."

"Tu Reen, I understand that... But he may be my last chance at finding my mother..." Zuko grabbed my hand. even in the state he's in."

I pulled my hand quickly away from him. I looked away. "Okay. But I'll be in the room when you do."

~~~
Zuko sat in a chair across from us. "I know this is risky, but I'm going to tell you the truth. I feel disconnected from the good in my own family... and in my own nation. For a whole host of reasons, I believe finding my mother would help me reconnect. I've had conversation after conversation with ozai and it's gone nowhere. He refuses to reveal what happened to her. So I've come to an uncomfortable conclusion. You are the only person in the world who can coax the information I need out of ozia. Tell me, then... what do you want in return for helping me find mother?"
Azulaan was in a straight jacket and wheelchair, me and one care other taker behind him. "Don't be silly, Zuzu!" He said with a smile. "The satisfaction of serving the fire lord in some small way will be compensation enough! Besides, not a day has gone by since you put me in here that I haven't wondered..." He looked at mirror and his eyes widened, clearly hallucinating something that wasn't there, "what exactly happened to our dear mother?"
THE END
I warned you it wasn't a happy ending...
