"The man..."

"Good morning," he greeted, sitting next to her, only for him to be ignored.

That or she was too distracted to notice his presence. She was staring intensely and lovingly at something.

He found himself tracing what — or who — she was looking at and as expected, he saw Mark Lee. Of all people she was looking at, of course, it would be him. It wasn't like he hated him; in fact, they were very close.

Just why him?

He decided to tap her shoulder resulting in her flinching. This confirmed she was in her own world, after all.

"Oh, Dong Hyuck," she said, keeping her right hand to her heart. "When did you get here?"

She struggled to smile genuinely. He stayed silent, while he crossed his arms. His lips curled down into a small scowl of disappointment. She slumped down in shame and sighed, "I was staring again, wasn't I?"

"No, you were staring again," he replied sarcastically.

She frowned at his response. "I'm sorry. Okay," she answered regaining her confidence.

"Hwa-young, Mark Hyung will surely catch you staring at him one day," he said in a carefree tone of voice.

He shook his head after his words. "And just know that I will always, always..." He paused to scoot close to her. He stared straight into her eyes, took her hands into his and continued.

"... be there," he said then he suddenly smiled. "To see you get caught and embarrass yourself in front of your crush."

Her lips formed into a scowl and immediately retracted her hand from his. "How dare you? You really are the devil!" She exclaimed, stomping her way out of the room.

Haechan laughed seeing her reaction or rather, before she could even react, he was already laughing.

"What was that all about?"

Haechan laughter subsided only slightly. "Oh, Mark Hyung. Nothing, really."

"But it looks like you made her mad. What have you done this time? You should be careful about what you say to Hwa-young. She is delicate." The comment caught Dong Hyuck's attention. He was a bit hesitant to speak up. Nonetheless, he found the courage to speak his mind.

"Do you like her?" He said, trying to hide his worry.

Mark didn't seem fazed by the question. He shook his head briefly. "No, I don't. I know she's a friend of yours and all, but," he paused and a sudden frown appeared on his face. "Look, it's not that I don't like her as a friend, but something about her, that just makes things feel off and awkward. No offense."

His eyebrows knotted together, trying to get the right words. He couldn't though and he didn't mean any bad or hate towards the said girl. Just being around her, he didn't really feel anything.

Dong Hyuck gestures showed he was in deep thought. "That's unlike you Mark brother."

Mark groaned. "I know that. It's just, everytime I think about her, nothing comes to mind — only Dong Hyuck's friend. I can't think of her beyond that and that's a mystery on its own."

Dong Hyuck's eyes widened in realization and it didn't go unnoticed. "What is it?" A confused Mark asked.

"We're actually having a serious conversation," the younger Lee stated.

"So?"

"Usually I can't take you seriously at all," he answered.

With that being said, Dong Hyuck received a glares from Mark and Hwa-young the entire work day.

"...who does not love you."
