(A/N: Welp. Here it is, almost six years after the initial publishing, The next chapter of My Stitched Heart. Thanks for your support, it is what brought me back to continue this story so much later. Love you guys and hope you can enjoy it!)
"Who are you?" I asked, deciding it was the best place to start after being thrown against a wall by this man. Yeah, from the voice, he was male, there was no mistaking it.
"That's not something you need to worry about right now. What you do need to know is my friend and I would like to have a chat with you, Miss (Y/N)."
"Chat with me about what? And how do you know my name?" I asked, slowly trying to scoot away from the male crouched in front of me. He didn't appear to be very large, but I didn't doubt his chances of beating me in a fight if it came to it. He cleared his throat before speaking, one of his arms moving to cover his mouth, the other shifting slightly. This slight movement brought the silhouette of a pipe into view, a soft metallic scrape ringing out across the room.
"For our purposes, you can call me Masky, that's what most people do. My friend is Hoodie, there over in the corner," He gestured to the other tall figure standing by the doorway I was dragged through. "Now, our problem here is you. We know who you are, just like everyone else in the next fifty-mile radius. You know why, (Y/N)? Because you're a murderer. You are going to be charged with two counts of first-degree murder if people see you out and about like this, idiot." He put his hand to his head, running his fingers through his hair as he frustratedly explained the situation to me.
"Oh jeez, people know it was me? I suppose that makes sense, I didn't really clean up after myself," I mused before looking back at 'Masky.' "Wait a minute, why is that your problem? If I'm seen, it isn't like they'll be after you too."
"You are both right and wrong, in that instance, (Y/N). You see, if civilians spot you, which wouldn't be hard seeing as you're covered in blood, this town will be crawling with the police. A city littered with cops is a very bad thing for us. Our family has done some... less than legal things in our time, including murder. So, we have a few options here. The first is, we could just kill you, right here, right now," Masky stood up, tossing the pipe up and catching it for effect before I felt his gaze settle back on me. My body grew tense, my hand reaching for the knife in my pocket, slowly, as to not alert him before he continued. "However, I have a feeling that isn't an option you much like, is it? So instead, here are your two choices. You can either leave this town and continue your life in peace, or you can invest in getting something to cover your damn face and come with us. You can join our family. The choice is yours. We can provide you with food and a home, as well as new clothes. If you want, we can even teach you how to get better at killing humans. But if you'd like to go out and risk it on your own, be my guest. Just know our home is always open to a new guest, and you seem like the kind of person our boss would take a quick liking to." Masky extended a hand to me, which I gratefully accepted, the masked man pulling me to my feet. I took a moment to relax so that I would be prepared for the decision I was about to make.
"Well, now isn't this an interesting offer!"
