There a man walk yonder,
With no hope of being accompanied
His appearance repels any who glance at him.
A jagged tooth here, ripped cloth there
In the nights, cold and unbearable,
He seeks warmth in the shelters scattered.

For what is cold here is the rejection.
The companionship offers the sympathy,
Thawing any rugged heart.
If the others understood that the inside counted,
Then they will see the obvious, yet unspoken,
That amid the darkness, even nights can be warm.
