"That was quick," Bayley remarked. Like usual, she was at my house after school to do homework. "You guys knew each other for what, two whole days?"

"I don't think there's anything wrong with it," I defended softly. "He makes me happy so far and vice versa."

"I'm not judging, I'm just thinking aloud that's all. I'm glad you're happy."

"He's perfect, Bayley. I've fallen for him already I think," I confessed.

"Just don't ever get carried away, promise me that?"

"I promise the most excellent promise I can make," I told her. "Guys like him normally get tired of girls like me soon enough anyway."

"Don't talk like that. You're amazing and you deserve someone special."

"Thanks," I whispered, leaning over to hug her. "You do too."

Bayley got to her feet, gathering her homework. "I saw my mom out the window. She's already picking me up, sorry it's earlier than usual."

"Don't sweat it," I assured her. She began to show herself to the door. "Hey!" She turned around to face me. "Thanks for everything."

"Anything for my best friend." She smiled widely before opening the door and leaving me alone.

The phone rang. I had given Donnie my number after he had asked me to go with him. I hoped it was him.

"Hello?"

"April?" It was Donnie's chipper voice. I smiled to myself, chewing at my lip.

"Hi Donnie, how was therapy?" I asked, worrying how he was doing.

"Um... can I come over? I'm sorry, that sounds rude but-"

"Yes of course, anything you need. I'll give you my address." And I did. As soon as I did he told me he would head over that second.

He showed up at my door looking weary. He opened his lanky arms to embrace me. Resting his head on top of mine, he sighed deeply and sniffled. "I don't know what's wrong with me," he whispered.

I pulled away to look into his eyes. "Nothing is wrong with you. It can't be just you. You nearly got hit by the trailer of a truck and now you're seeing things. That can't be just a coincidence. It's not like you began seeing things out of nowhere."

We both sat down on my couch to relax a little. "You had me so worried when you called," I told him hoarsely, running my hand through his hair.

"I'm sorry, April. I just needed to be with you. It's helped me so far," he said, leaning back against the cushion. "Now that we're going together do you want to hang out more?"

"Like when?" I wondered, situating myself and rolling onto my stomach.

"Maybe after therapy, we could hang out and maybe this weekend and any other weekend in addition to when we usually see each other," Donnie elaborated.

"I like that idea." I laid my head on his chest and shut my eyes. "That way we can get to know each other even more. You wanna come here again tomorrow?"

"Only if you want me here," he replied simply.

"Of course I want you here. I just didn't know if you wanted to hang out at the park or something."

"Yea but at least here, no one else has to see us kissing. No PDA." He leaned over to connect our lips, chuckling into the kiss.

"Sometimes swinging is fun," I conjectured as I pulled away. Donnie playfully rolled his eyes and kissed me again.
