Sunday
Luke spent the rest of the weekend showing Caroline around Nashville. They also wound up spending Saturday night at a bonfire with some of Luke’s songwriting buddies.
Sunday morning came and Caroline awoke to the feeling of Luke drawing circles on her back. “Mmm….good morning.” She said opening her eyes and gazing into his.
“Morning. Hope I didn’t wake you.” Luke said as he leaned down to kiss her.
She kissed him back with a smile. “Not at all. I don’t have to leave until 1 or 2 this afternoon. What do you want to do this morning?”
Luke chuckles, “Well…I could think of a few ways to spend it…but I thought maybe we could grab some breakfast and wander downtown some more.”
“Sounds great. I’m going to hop in the shower.” Caroline said, kissing him on the nose. “You can join me if you’d like.”
He grinned and playfully chased her into the bathroom. “Don’t have to tell me twice.”
After fooling around in the shower, they finished up and headed out to breakfast. They ate at one of Luke’s favorite places and then walked around hand-in-hand. The couple talked about the holidays and talked about how great it would be to spend them together.
They strolled around and walked in the leaves and enjoyed their day together. Finally they headed back to Luke’s house so she could pack up her stuff and be able to head back to Georgia without getting home too late.
Luke pulled Caroline into his arms and held her tight. “Baby I’m really going to miss you.”
She smiled as she looked into his eyes, “I’m going to miss you too Luke. Are you going to be in Georgia for Thanksgiving?”
He nodded, “Yup. I’ll be in Leesburg. You going home?”
“Oh yeah, mama and daddy wouldn’t have it any other way.” Caroline replied as she zipped up her bag. “You playin’ anywhere that weekend?”
“No, it’s a holiday so I try not to unless I really need the money.”
She nodded, “Well, maybe we can try to meet up? I know I’ll talk to you before next weekend, but let’s see what we can do.”
Luke leaned down and kissed her lovingly. The beautiful couple stood in the driveway kissing for quite awhile…then finally broke the kiss. “I’ll miss you. Call me when you get home so I know you got home safe.”
Caroline nodded, “I will Luke. I’m going to miss you too.” Then she got into her car and waved out the window as she drove away.
He watched as her taillights faded away. “I’m going to marry that girl.” He said to himself as he walked back into the house.
