Phil's P.O.V
Cortney Sixx poured the lads a pint each and me a cola. We all sat at a round table, in silence.
There was a fire burning, next to us, warming us up, and we all let out a sigh."You lot come far?" Cortney asked us, leaning against the bar. She said business was slow at Christmastime, so she and Frank liked to slack off a bit. No one else was at the bar, but us.
"All over Europe. We're in a band. Heading home for Christmas." Rick answered.
"Get lost! You guys famous?!" Cortney beamed.
"Yeah, a bit. We're Def Leppard." Joe smiled.
"Oh! I've heard of you guys! I'm so sorry about you friend Steve!" Cortney held a hand over her heart.
"Thank you. We're getting by now." Joe smiled weakly. It was still very fresh."Well, have a drink on me. What you all doing here, then?" Cortney asked, wiping the bar down.
"Our bus broke down. Frank's calling a friend, seeing if he can get us help." Rick answered.
"Biiig storm coming this way. Frank will always do what he can, but you lads are welcome to stay here." Cortney smiled at us. "For half price, gotta make some money."We laughed, with Cortney, and Frank walked into the bar.
"Good news and bad news, lads!" He frowned.
"Go on..." Joe sat up.
"My friend is able to come and tow your bus, but it's not gonna be running any time soon. I can give you a lift, to grab your things, and you're welcome to stay here, discounted! As you're in a tough situation. That storm is coming and fast, so we need an answer. Other option is you go with the tow and seek shelter..." Frank leaned back against the bar.We all looked at each other and silently agreed. "We'll grab our things and stay here. Thank you, so much, for this!" I smiled, as we all got up.
"Brilliant! Cort, room B.12 is leaving, watch the desk, get Lister on the bar, he should be up now, and make something up to Kate!" Frank turned to his wife.
"No worries." She held her left hand out to him.He took her hand and kissed it, before leading us to their garage. We got our coats on and climbed in the mini bus. It had thick snow tires, so I had no worries about this.
The trip was easy. There and back. Pete went with the bus to sort out charges, and the road was soon closed. The winds picked up and the snow got heavy, but we made it back.
"Rooms A.04, A.05, B.09, B.10, and C.01. Best rooms we have. Do be sensible on corridor C, as our daughters suite is situated there." Frank fixed us up with rooms.
"Thank you." We all smiled, taking random keys.
I looked at my room number: C.01
"Any help with the bags?" Frank asked.
"We're alright, thanks." Vivian smiled. We walked to the elevators, with all our bags, and pressed our floor numbers.
Everyone on the first floor, of three, and me on the second.
"Don't upset their daughter!" Joe pointed a finger at me, making us all laugh.
"How old is she?" I asked.
"Little girl, I think, going off those pictures!" Vivian spoke up.
"With her own suite?" Sav replied, stopping on their floor."See you for dinner, mate!" Joe smiled, stepping out, with Rick behind him.
"See you later!" I waved to them, as the doors closed.
Up another floor and the doors opened.
I gathered my bags and followed the signs, walking to the left.
Far side of the corridor, room C.01.I could hear faint music, coming from the end room. Sounded like someone was playing the bass guitar... roughly. Maybe learning the bass guitar? I couldn't recognize the song, but it wasn't bad.
I shook it off and unlocked my door, letting myself in.
Double bed, radio, my own bathroom, open closet, amazing view of frost on my window! I liked it.
I had a chair and a desk, that I left my guitar next to, and I placed my bags on the bed.The curtains were black, but the duvet cover and pillows were red, saying 'Ho, Ho, Ho!' In white writing all over them.
These guys loved the Christmastime!
I had a small tree, with built in lights, on the desk, which made me smile. This would be fine for a night.I unpacked and switched the radio on. The radio was on the left side of the bed and I had a phone on the right, with a number for room service, a menu, and what to dial, if I want to call out the hotel.
Christmas songs were on the radio, which I caught myself singing along to, as I finished unpacking. I kicked my bag under the bed and sat down.
'Lonely This Christmas' by Mud came on the radio, making me slam it off."'Not working out' . . . I was home for three months, you couldn't tell me then?" I muttered, grabbing my hotel key, walking out my room.
"Sorry?" A soft voice asked, as my door closed.
I looked up and saw a woman, about my age, standing outside the suite.
"Sorry, love. Was talking to myself!" I told her.
"Oh, right." She nodded. "Are you OK?" She asked me.She looked like Frank. She had his hair colour, and smile, but she had Cortney's eyes. Her hair was dark, almost black, with red highlights.
She wore a black Guns N' Roses top, with red and black striped jeans, topped with a blue flannel shirt and red bowler hat. She also wasn't wearing any shoes."I'm fine. No worries! Are you Frank's daughter?" I asked her, standing in place. She was beautiful.
"Yeah. I'm Katie! Katie Sixx." She smiled at me.
"I'm Phil Collen. Nice to meet you, love." I couldn't take my eyes off her.Katie smiled at me and walked over, nodding for me to walk with her.
"Are you staying here long?" She asked me, her accent a heavy Lancashire one, like her mothers, only it sounded thicker on some words, more than others.
"Just for the night!" I replied, as we walked down the corridor to the staircase.
