It's been almost 5 years with this guy sleeping in the same room as mine and I look at him intently , and with full of giddiness and curiosity to see what his reaction will be to my news.
"You know it's bad to stare at people when they are asleep" he chimed with his eyes still close
I was certainly caught off guard and I was speechless except just a small smile broke upon my face and I grabbed the nearest cushion and threw it in his face .
He chuckled ,half opening his eyes and then looked at me and opened his arms mouthing a come to me and I huffed a bit and walked over to the bed .
As soon as I reached the bed , he pulled me in a big embrace and while settling me on the bed , he pushed half of his weight on me while hugging me .
To say the least I was suffocated but I liked his warmth and hugged him back .
'Will this be the right time to tell him' I think mentally
He wasn't asleep and I knew that , so I slightly stroked his hair before I said his name ,
"Yugene?" And he hummed to the call
"I have to tell you something" I continue.
He turned his face and body a bit away from me so that he can look at me and took that as the cue to speak
"It's been five years since we have been together ,seven if we talk about the friendship, and I have a bond with you that I have never got with anyone else .. we have been through so many hurdles and all this time you had been my constant even when you had the choice of not being there , you were" I said looking in his eyes now and taking his hands in mine I continued speaking
" I can't imagine a life without you specially after the way your family has already acknowledged me and my family has accepted you , and so I think we are ready for the next step of this relationship, so ..."
I took out a simple gold band from my pocket and held it out " Mr. Yugene Dylan Scott, I am irrevocably in love with you and want to spend my life with you , annoying you , being a burden to you and still being there for you always . So will you , marry me ,Mr.Scott."
I finished with a smile on my face and he just looked at me , blinked at me for some seconds and then got up from the bed and went to my side of drawer and got something out , when I realised it's paper , I knew what it was and I took a sharp deep breath and said "Yugene ?a"
"Davina Scott , mind explaining how are we supposed to get married when you have a transfer at hand" he gave me a no-shit-look
I was at loss of words , I never thought he would know about this before the proposal . My plan was to get him to say yes and then take the transfer and then it will give him some confidence against his insecurities and it'll be a security for me too but here it got boomeranged in my face .
"I-I thought ..thou-" I stammered thinking about what should I say to the volcano who was not even looking at me as he was turned towards the grand glass window of his room
"Yes I'll marry you" he cut me in between sending me in surprise for the third time and started walking towards , bending his body so that his mouth was close my left ear
"But I'll go with you." He whispered after a minute as he gave the final decision and I knew I won't be able to argue with him on that , even though it's not viable for him and his business but it's no use arguing with him .
And I sighed as I plopped back on the bed thinking how I ended up with this guy , my best friend from my junior year .
