Isabell's POV

Today was kind of a... do nothing day.

The normal tasks of doing laundry and dishes were ignored, so I could relax and finally catch up on something I really enjoyed. Like the stack of half read books that sat collecting dust. I chose a romance novel that had been started but forgotten about over time. Work seemed to have taken over all my free time and now with it being my day off - a romance novel seemed to be a great idea.

I sat on my couch that was placed against a low window. It was a very cloudy day, so the lighting from the sun was defused enough to create a wonderful ambient glow. A glass of red wine at my side, and some fuzzy socks... I couldn't ask for anything better.

Slowly, the words of the book pulled me in deeper. It was like I was watching a movie instead of actually sitting and reading.

I forgot how good this book was.

It was a romance between a young woman and a lawyer. Mr.Palmer was his name. He was good at his job and proved it in many cases. She was his assistant who helped him through it all. Things started off platonic, but gradually, they seemed to get closer. The further I read, the more heated things got. Currently the two characters were back at Mr.Palmer's place, strictly for business.. or so they said. What seemed to be an innocent exchange of words about a new case, soon turned to him sitting next to her on the couch, his knee touching hers.

His eyes would follow where he had made contact and then would raise up to her face.

The fact that they both wanted each other but, hadn't acted on it had me fidgeting in my seat.

He then cleared his throat lowly and reached for the piece of paper she was holding. His hand touching hers, almost as if it was on purpose.

As I continued on, a quiet sound of water hitting the window pulled me from the movie I had made in my head. Occasional water droplets hit the window and dark clouds rolled in. I hadn't noticed how harsh the lighting was on my eyes until I felt a dull pain in my brows.

I tried to rub the pain away with my pointer and forget about it, pulling the book back up to start reading. The letters seemed to have gotten jumbled up and the smooth transition from words to visualizing it was proven difficult with a headache.

The more I forced myself to read on, the more I squinted my eyes in pain.

Right when things were getting somewhere!

My glass of wine I had been sipping on was half way done and was calling my name. The edge of the glass touched my lips while I titled my head back to down the rest of the red liquid. Licking my lips and placing it down, the movement sent more throbbing pains to my head.

I groaned and sat up from my cozy position. The once interesting Romance novel becoming a second to my pain.

Standing up from the couch, I walked across the living room to the bathroom. I opened up my mirror cabinet to get the relief I needed. Through the mess of multiple brands of creams, medicines and makeup, Advil never came into site. Making sure to shuffle the containers around one good time in hopes it was hiding somewhere. I was in defeat to see nothing.
