➶ chapter 010
it was almost dismissal time yet, she still can't focus on the lesson their professor was discussing. yuki was an air-head most of the time, but this was time it was just too much.
she can't even remember a single thing about their lesson. all she cares about now is their dismissal. she wants to go home as soon as possible.
all that's running in her mind right now is watanabe.
yes.
watanabe haruto.
seeing him go to school early just to leave gifts for her was beyond what she have expected. she didn't regret what she saw, but she regretted not being prepared for haruto's presence.
as soon as the dismissal bell rang, she swiftly stood up and took her books by hand before walking out of classroom. she need not a minute to be wasted.
she was too embarrassed to even face haruto now.
'now that i know, it's even harder to face him.' she thought to herself while quickly walking.
she ran her way down the stairs, almost reaching the lobby when her name was called.
"yukinara, i'll go home with you." yoshi lazily yawned before putting his arm around yuki's shoulder, "why do you have your books, aren't you gonna leave them in your locker?"
yuki silently shook her head as a response. all she wants now is to head straight back home and sleep. she still can't believe everything.
little did she know, yoshi was already planning something. right when they were infront of the school gate to exit, she dragged yuki forcibly to the mini garden.
"yosh- what the heck?" yuki panicked and exclaimed, "i want to go home!"
she struggled to get away from his hold, but he tried his best not to let go. he didn't answer any more of her complaints and pushed her on the garden bench to sit.
"if you run away, i'll make sure you can't live peacefully at home." yoshi threatened after letting his cousin sit still on the bench.
he slowly walked away from her, glancing.
yuki started getting annoyed with him and thought, 'am i not yet living unpeacefully with you around the house?'
she rolled her eyes and she was about to stand up when he saw a familiar person walking towards her direction.
someone she avoided.
someone she didn't want to face right now.
"hi yuki." haruto started off and cleared his throat.
yukinara sat tall on the bench as she looked at the fine man standing infront of her. it seems like she had no choice, but to face him knowing yoshinori wouldn't let his friend all troubled.
"h-hello." she shortly replied.
haruto kept the small distance between them after sitting beside yuki. he didn't want to scare her away, so he trued his best and cautiously started speaking.
"i want to say sorry for keeping all of this from you." he leaned his back on the bench, "about the orange juice."
yuki remained quiet and waited for everything she needs to hear aside from her heart that might explode out of pumping too fast.
"i just don't know how i'll approach you. i mean, you probably haven't been attracted to anyone in this school," he reasoned out, "i was afraid to be rejected."
yuki thought of how mashiho really protected her secret that even haruto doesn't know she actually liked someone. she likes him.
"i was, maybe, a coward?" he chuckled, "but i hope you liked the juice."
then he became quiet. yuki glanced at him and saw that he was looking at her.
"did you?"
"of c-course!" yuki automatically nodded. it wasn't a lie though.
"i'm glad you do." haruto smiled and looked at her directly in the eyes, "so... can i ask you a question?"
"sure. what is it?" yuki nervously responded.
"do you like someone, yuki?" he bit his lips, "is someone courting you?"
yuki grew tense. she fidgetted with her fingers while saying the words "n-no one's courting me."
a victory smile can slightly visible on haruto's lips, but then he spoke up again after realizing his first question was left hanging.
"do you like someone?" he repeated his question.
yuki clasped both her hands together on her lap as she started breathing uneasily. she's too overwhelmed to full process what's happening to her now.
confession of watanabe haruto; confession of her ultimate crush.
if that's the case then it looks like this would be a great, great time for her to open up her feelings already. no more hiding. it's time to let him know how she feels inside too.
"actually," yuki nervously bit her lips and finally spilled the beans, "i like you too... since last year."
"w-what?" haruto stuttered as he shot her a sideward glance, his face mixed with confusion and happiness.
today was the day... the day when she finally confessed and had her feelings accepted.
the day when every thing finally became clear to the both of them.
