"I love you, Sissy.." Little Jakey whispered in my ear as we were watching our favorite series of movies.. Harry Potter! Jake is my little brother. I will have to admit that he is the cutest ever. He is only about 8 years old but so mature. "I love you too, so much! Don't forget it little bro." I said back to him as I threw a piece of popcorn up and successfully caught it in my mouth. "Wooooow!" He said, amazed. I laughed and just continued watching the movie.
The credits started scrolling up the screen. I looked over only to find Jake passed out all over the couch with his head eased onto my lap. He looked so peaceful.. I played with his curly blonde hair a little, "Time for bed, kiddo." I sighed, looking at the floor. He groaned, "Whyyyyyyyy?" I replied, "We have to go to your little cousins charity event tomorrow! We can't miss that, can we!?" As I starting to fold up the blankets, he rubbed his eyes and rolled on to the floor and sighed, "Fiiine I'll go." I laughed, "I wasn't asking for your choice, now get up." He slowly got up and walked up the stairs in his toy story onesie pajamas while dragging his green and red christmas blanket. So cute. I turned off the lights, followed him to his room, and tucked him in.
"Sing me a song again tonight? Plleeeeeeasseeee! PLEEEASE!, " he whined. "Haha, alright alright. I don't think I have a choice!, " I chuckled. "Which one shall it be, Jakey?" "I like it when you sing that one song that goes Its too cooOoold outside for angels or something like that!!" "Ohhh, that's called The A Team by Ed Sheeran!," I smiled. He smiled back, with his sparkling light blue eyes.
I started to sing,
"White lips.. Pale face. Breathing in snow flakes.. Burnt lungs, sour taste." And so on. Reaching the end I noticed he was already sound asleep. I love looking at his innocence while he sleeps. I whispered the last line of the song in his ear as I kissed his small forehead. I walked over to his miniature blue Christmas tree and plugged in the red glowing lights wrapped around it, putting a shine on all his ornaments he's made in school and some he got from family.
Walking into my room, I noticed a letter on my bed. Great. What shall this be!? I opened the letter to read "Dear Haylee,
I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. Your dad and I have to do some last minute Christmas shopping tomorrow so were leaving early. Do you care to take you and your brother to Bradley's charity event tomorrow? I left a 50 in the envelope to donate and 20 for you to grab some food. Be careful and wear seatbelts!
Love you Hayls,
Mom
"Yayyy! Responsibility!" I whispered sarcastically as I put the envelope on my night stand and plugged up my iphone 4 to my charger. Walking to my closet, I slipped of my clothes. I picked out a oversized t-shirt I had stolen from my dad and a pair of basketball shorts. I turned on my fan and flipped off the hallway light and bathroom light. I jumped straight into bed, checked my phone, and dozed straight off to what seemed to be a rarely comfortable night.
