PANDEMIC PRISONER : SENRYU
dedicated to pre-teens
spring has not been fun
coping with the pandemic
has been horrible
shoppers wearing masks
washing all our groceries
no playing with friends
lots of seniors died
travelers were quarantined
we had to miss school
teacher called most days
poor dad feared losing his job
holidays canceled
library was closed
missed my special tenth birthday
no hockey to watch
no hugging grandma
no eating at McDonald's
always washing hands
no swimming lessons
shortage of toilet paper
no pj parties
will this ever end?
will Santa come at Christmas?
Mom says, " Be patient."
I have felt lonely
So I've been praying quite hard
God has been my friend
I trust He will help
I'm praying for a vaccine
He could save the world
