May 6, 2019; countryside of Spain.
Minho was lying down on the grass, breathing in the raw and fresh country air, when his phone started buzzing dangerously. He kept his eyes closed for four more seconds before he sat up and checked his phone. He quickly scrolled through and realized that the articles about his next project were out today. He took a deep breath and lied back down again. It was too quick. Everything was happening so quickly. In less than two weeks, he went from being a social worker to being a celebrity again. But he still didn't get to wake the actor in him.
The afternoon was windy. That's the reason why he came down to cycle around the mountains with his friends. Now, while they were gone to get some coffee, he lied down... and was still lying down. The breeze was getting cold now, but he couldn't feel it. Thinking about returning back to his old life, the cold wasn't stinging at all. Instead, he was sweating. His heart was pounding so loud and beating so fast; it was thrilling. The two years in enlistment, where everyday was the same, indistinguishable from one another, were now blurry. Almost forgotten. He whispered, "I... I'm finally going back..."
With his eyes closed and buried in thoughts, he didn't know he was smiling the entire time.
May 19, 2019; South Korea.
Goeun was finally back to an empty home after a tight schedule. She couldn't even imagine how tighter it was going to get, now that her next project was made official a few hours ago. The King: Eternal Monarch, she read out from the article published and smiled at it. As much as grandeur the name carried with itself, she knew her job was going to be just as huge.
Even though work did get suffocatingly big at times, she always pulled herself through, because she loved doing what she did and somewhere inside, she knew she was good at it. When she was stuck in that line of thought, her phone rang. She answered, "Appa"..."Yes, I'm back"..."How's your trip? How's eomma?"....."Mhm. Be safe. Good night."
She lied on her stomach on the sofa and let her mind loose with thoughts for a while. When she finally stopped spacing out, she noticed the portrait that hung on the wall. Her dad got it made, a few years ago, all while she was embarrassed about it. She never fully saw the portrait even though it was there for years. Now that she was seeing it, she felt...nothing? She stared at the picture, at her, for a long while and before she knew it, she was coddled into sleep's arms.
And behind her closed eyelids, her eyes moved, dreaming of tomorrow.
