After the death of his only son, the news reached Lucas' ears that the tower's wizard had begun to climb back into the Black Tower. It was only a few months after their last meeting.
As soon as he heard it, Lucas thought he should drop by the Black Tower, which he hadn't been to for a long time. Decades have passed which felt suffocating, as if a rock had been laid on his back, but for some reason, now he felt cool in his insides [1].
That man, was he hurt because his son died? If so, I could have comforted him.
"Lucas, you came."
However, the tower's wizard, with a thin figure, greeted Lucas as always.
"I thought it was time for you to come, but you don't seem to be in good condition."
Lucas frowned at the man standing under the red sunset.
"I heard your son is dead?"
"Yes."
"So what's the matter?"
Contrary to what he expected, the wizard of the tower showed an indifferent attitude that made Lucas feel awkward.
Can a man who has lived this long be so calm in the face of a loved one's death? But Lucas definitely saw his grief, sadness and pain the last time he saw him.
Then, he met his black eyes filled with endless darkness.
"How many times has it been?"
Lucas now realized why the tower's wizard had such a heartless expression.
