Taylor was Olivia's ex-boyfriend, and I had my doubts she hadn't moved on, but it was settled when she got together with Carter.
"And you didn't tell it to me?"
"Lucy, I didn't wish things to get different between us, you and me, or Carter and me. And today, I wanted to tell him that, but I just couldn't, I don't want to lose him."
"Olivia, you lost him the day you cheated him, just tell him the truth at least"
"Yes, I will, but please don't tell anyone this, I'll tell him when the time is right"
"Okay, I won't. Stop crying, now"
"You think, he will forgive me?"
"I don't know, I hope he does"
With that, I hugged her, asked her to take care, and left her room to go home.
I love her, but I can't support cheating, it would mean I'm hurting Carter. Besides she needs to tell him the truth.
As I reached home, I couldn't stop thinking about the things that were happening, and the worst part of it was, I had to stay alone, which meant more time to over-think.
I went to my room, had a shower, wore a black satin knee-length kimono above my tank top and shorts, and was about to go to the kitchen when I heard the bell.
"Ryan" I looked at him, confused.
"Hey,FGF?"
"Sorry?"
"Fake Girlfriend, duh"
"Come on in"
"Adam told me you were alone today,so...."
"ohhhh, but its fine, I'm good"
"Okay, I think I should leave then," He said, with playful eyes, and laughed on seeing the anxiousness in my eyes as he said that."Chill, what's for dinner?"
I was thankful he was here, but I didn't want him to suspect that I was hiding something so I tried to pretend everything was fine. "Lasagna and garlic bread" I replied.
"Your mom made this?"
"Hmm, just need to heat it"
"I'll do that,you set the table for three"
"Adam is coming?"
"Nope, Summer is."
"What?", I looked at him surprised.
"Kidding, he is coming, in 10...9..8..7...6...5....4....3....2...1?"
And we heard the bell.He was more surprised than I was.We laughed and he went to open the door after placing the dinner in the oven to heat it. Ryan was the one I could share anything with. The kind who would make you laugh, even when you are crying, and though he was a playboy, he was an amazing friend. And today I can't thank him enough for being here.
As I set the table for us, I could hear the boys coming towards the table. Ryan went to the kitchen and brought the dinner to the table, while Adam took out the drinks, from the refrigerator and placed it on the table.
"Carter, wanted to stay home, so he didn't come", said Adam."Did Olivia say something to you?"
"Nothing specific." I lied and they knew that. But, neither of them asked more.
"Dinner is served", This was Ryan.
"You didn't cook it", Adam confirmed by looking at me and trying to bring our dear friend back to the ground.
"Excuse me?" he said, and the three of us laughed.
We had dinner, and the boys did the dishes while I cleared the table.
We played FIFA for a hour before they left, asking me to lock the door behind them and go to sleep, instantly.
"Thank you guys, I needed this", I said hugging the two and wishing them good night.
"Shut up kiddo", said Ryan, in an irritated tone. And I laughed. They knew when I needed them the most and usually, Olivia and Carter would also be with us, but they needed time to sought things out among themselves, at least Olivia did.
The next day, everything was back to normal as it seemed. We entered the school parking like we usually did, in our defined order, and today, Olivia's car was behind me.
After parking the car, I noticed that Carter and Olivia were in different cars today.
I looked at her, demanding an explanation, and all she said was"I told him, I need a little space".
"You haven't told him yet?" I asked.
"I couldn't tell him on the phone"
She was right. The five of us entered the school building. The classes were normal, except the fact that Olivia was behaving differently. She seemed to be more serious, and quiet than usual. I thought it was probably because of the secret she had. Was Taylor contacting her, or maybe threatening her with something?
As I was engrossed in my own thoughts,I heard Carter call my name. I turned around in the hallway to see him.
"Hey Carter"
"Hey, I need to talk to you, about Olivia"
"hmm, say", I said walking slowly towards the class. He starting walking with me.
"Did she say something to you, I mean she has been avoiding me since yesterday after I dropped her home", he said.
"Oh is she?"I asked him, trying to pretend I was oblivious of the 'ignoring' fact.
"Do you know something", he asked with hopeful eyes.
"Carter, I ........"
"Hey man, the coach is looking for you," said Ryan. And before I could speak, he pulled Carter toward the field. He looked at me and smiled. He might have guessed, I knew something, and he did, what he could do to avoid that.
After school was over, I waited for the group near the parking and noticed that Olivia's car wasn't there.
Adam, Carter, and Ryan were walking towards talking about the field when they noticed the confusion on my face. They looked at me and then at the cars. And now they were in a confusion as well.
I took my phone out of the back pocket of my jeans and called Olivia.
