You'd been walking for a few hours and there was still no sign of the grievers.
"Do you hear that." Newt said, stopping to listen.
Click. Click. Click.
"Oh no. We have to go." He said, you both turned and ran away from the noise. It was a griever, and you were terrified. You ran for a long time and your legs were burning. "It's no use running." You said. "We have to find somewhere to hide."
"I agree, they're probably a lot faster than us." He replied, looking around for somewhere to hide. You looked up. "We could climb." You offered. He stared up at the wall. Then he looked at you. His eyes were wild and you knew there was no way he could climb up that wall. "Sorry," you said. "Bad Idea." You looked around for somewhere else you could hide. You inspected the vines and saw that they reached all the way to the bottom. You lift some of the vines to reveal a small gap underneath the wall. It was big enough for both of you to fit underneath. You looked back at Newt and raised your eyebrows. "That could work." He said.

You both crawled under the gap and pulled the ivy over to cover you. "What do we do now?" You asked.
"We wait." He said before falling silent for a while. You started to get sick of waiting. And you soon got bored. "Can you talk to me?" You asked Newt. "I think I'm going crazy."
"What do you want to talk about?" He asked. "Anything." You said. You were lying on your side looking through the ivy, Newt was behind you with his back against the wall. You could still hear the grievers in the distance. They were getting closer "Well, if we don't make it tonight I want you to know that I really like you." He said confidently. "I really like you too Newt." You said, but it didn't sound right. Like wasn't a strong enough word. Like was a word people used when they were friends. You knew that Newt was more then just a friend, you loved him. "Screw it." Newt said, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Ever since you came up in that box I haven't stopped thinking about you. When I'm sitting right next to you, when I'm in my hammock just before I go to sleep, when we're in the gardens working together and especially today when I was alone waiting for you to run through those doors. But after a while I realised that I loved you, and I don't know if you feel the same but I'm certain that I love you." You had to remind yourself to breathe as you turned over to face him. You looked him in the eyes and saw that he was waiting for you to say something. You didn't say anything. Instead you moved closer to him until you couldn't get any closer, you lifted your hand up to his face and pulled him towards you until your noses were touching. He smiled, and you fit your lips to his. Your body began to tingle. You didn't care about the grievers anymore. You have never felt more alive. You could kiss him for hours, days, even weeks, but eventually you pulled away and stared into each other's eyes for what felt like an eternity.
