Chapter Two

I look at my car then back at Kenji then back at the car. "Don't panic when you get in the car and I start it. It will make a loud noise, but it will be fine." I unlock the car then opened the passenger door for Kenji. "Get in." He did as I said. Chia and Zen sat in the back. I sighed as I walked to the drivers side. I climb in, put my seat belt on, and started the engine. Kenji gripped the chair at the loud noise. "You okay?" I asked. He nodded. I put the car in drive and headed home. We rode in silence for a few minutes when my phone range throughout  the car. "Okay, stay calm, it's only my uncle calling. Don't say a word." I answered the call, "Hello?"

"Hey, Luna, I called to tell you I will be pulling an all nighter at work so I won't be home till late tomorrow."

"Fine, but you have to get some sleep. Take several power naps and eat healthy snacks. No donuts. I'm talking to you Patrick."

"Hahaha! Come on, that's not all I bring to eat."

"You mean Little Debbie's  are healthy too?"

"I'm, well..."

"Haha, you can't win against her, she's too sharp for her own good. I keep telling her she would be a great lawyer, but she refuses." I smiled. "So Luna, are you done star gazing?"

"Yes, I'm on my way home now."

"Wow, that was short."

"Ya, the sky wasn't as clear as I thought it would be."

"Okay, be safe. I love you."

"I love you too, uncle. Night."

"Sweat dreams." Uncle Tom hung up. I chewed on my bottom lip. How am I going to explain this to him? I look over at Kenji when reaching a stop light. I noticed the people next to us staring at him. "Oh man, I forgot about his ears and tail." I cleared my throat then asked, "Hey can you get rid of the ears and tail? People are starring at you." I pressed the gas pedal when the light turned green.

"Oh yes, of course. My apologies." He closed his eyes. The next moment his tail and ears were gone.

"Thank you. We're almost home." Silence filled the car once more. The silver ring around my wrist would glow in the moon light when I move my arm just right. I flinched at the sight. "We're here. Get out." My mood has darkened a bit since we left the cemetery. I guess looking at that ring makes me mad. To think this was forced on me without my knowledge or consent. Just thinking about it makes my blood boil. I grit my teeth as I try opening the door. Kenji noticed, he flinched at the sound. "Of course, his hearing must be far superior then humans. Even Chia and Zen flinched." I walked inside with the others in tow. I turned on the lights and headed for the living room. I gently put my things on the floor. "Are you hungry?"

"I could eat something."

"What do you eat?"

"Whatever you eat is fine."

I started toward the kitchen, "Follow me." I walk to the fridge to see what was inside to eat. There was some leftover pizza, Chinese, Mexican, and pasta. "Okay, looking at all this Uncle Tom and I are not cooks." I pull out all the food and began inspecting it all. I smelled the Chinese. "Nope." I said tossing it in the trash. "This pizza is from two days ago, so it's still good. The pasta is four days old so better eat it now. As for the Mexican..." I smelled the contents. A sly grin came across my lips. I sobered up then handed the food to Chia and Zen. "Here you two can have this."

"Thank you, Lady Luna!" Chia said happily. Both Chia and Zen began devouring the food. I hid my face to keep from laughing. Kenji saw me and smiled. He knew what I was doing to them. The two foxes stopped then began spitting out the food. "My lady, why would do this to us?" Zen asked.
