The ding from the bell hanging just above the door rang for about the fifth time that day. A small coffee shop that had been open for around half an hour now, had another customer.  The peaceful aura surrounding the room matched the scent of crushed coffee beans and sugar. Hinata just walked through the open door and deeply breathed in the scent, smiling to himself. Today was already looking to be a good day for him. He could just feel it.

The barista watched from behind the counter. He had never seen this boy before and could immediately tell he hadn't ever been there. He studied the boy's features, curious as to what brought him in. He didn't seem like the type to drink coffee. Way too cheery already for this time of morning, seeming rather energetic. Kageyama couldn't help but notice The way the boy's eyes sparkled brighter than the stars when he took the scene in, how his bright orange hair bounced with his every step. He walked towards the counter, staying a few paces away, looking at the drink selections.

There were no other customers waiting in line. Only a couple other people in the cafe, in their own bubbles enjoying their drinks. Kageyama had nothing else to do. Well, nothing better to do. And just stared at Hinata. Taking in all his features, attempting to guess what the shorter boy would order. A hot chocolate, maybe. Extra whipping cream and sprinkles. Possibly ask about chocolate shavings...

What Kageyama failed to notice, however, were the quick glances Hinata kept making over to him. Utterly distracted by the taller figure, Hinata automatically dubbed him as the most beautiful person he had ever seen. Hinata couldn't focus on the drink options. What was he here for again? He doesn't even drink coffee... Perhaps he could start, just to see this boy in front of him more often. Hinata was already smitten.

"Are you going to order something or just stand there like an idiot all day?" The silent glass bubble around them shattered by Kageyama's words. It had been a few minutes. It was getting awkward. Too long for the boy to just be simply indecisive or shy. Perhaps he was just a fool and Kageyama was foolish to waste his breath on him. But perhaps, the boy in front of him was just as intrigued of the other's presence as himself. The smallest spark of a thought settled to the back of his mind, appearing on his face a small pink colour.

Hinata sputtered, "Uhhh, I... Yeah, sorry." Two steps back, arms out front. Regaining himself he let his hand scratch the back of his head. Now fully at the counter, closer than before. "Could I just get a black coffee and some hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and sprinkles?"

"Black coffee?" Kageyama thought to himself, "didn't see him as the type to drink caffeine..." Although he was proud he guessed the hot chocolate order. Without thinking he blurted "Two drinks? Are they just for yourself?" He hadn't even registered the words until they were out of his mouth. He furrowed his eyebrows, annoyed.

Much to his surprise, however, Hinata giggled. A nice sounding one, his hand largely covering his small smile. His adorable smile. "No, no, I'm just picking up some coffee for a friend. He let me crash at his place last night, figured it was the least I could do."

Kageyama let out a soft smile and nod. "Name?"

"Kenma, but why would you want to know his name?"

Now it was Kageyama's turn to laugh, "I meant yours, I need to know who to give the drinks to."

Hinata's whole face went red, "Oh... Right..." His eyes shifted to the floor, deciding it was the most interesting thing in the room, "I'm Hinata..." His voice trailed off.

Kageyama teasingly shook his head and went to prepare the drinks. Returning shortly after, two to-go cups in hand. "I have a got chocolate with whipped cream and a black coffee for the tangerine boi!" Hinata's cheeks went red as he laughed at the other's antics.

"Oh hey, I think that might be me," he giggled once he made it to the counter. Noting how Kageyama's gaze was sharper than before, but the eyes behind it were full of mischief.

"Well, only one way to confirm," Kageyama smiled, "I'm gonna need your phone number just to make sure it's really you."

Hinata's cheeks dusted pink as he stuttered a little, impressed by how smooth that was. He made a grabby motion signalling he wanted Kageyama's phone. Which was gladly handed over.

Hinata left the cafe feeling a lot lighter than before. As if he were lying atop the whipped cream adorning his hot coco. He smiled as he walked down the street, heading to his friends house. Excited for the days ahead.
