I slept until it was 1:30 pm the next day. I still couldn't believe what was going on.
I opened my eyes to see a tray of breakfast right in front of me. Scrambled eggs, veggies, and orange juice.
Yummy.

"What's that for?"
I asked dad, who brought this to my bed.

"It's a good morning treat, for my princess."
He smiled.

"Aha, this princess is waiting the evil witch to come and poison you. And I'll end up sweeping the streets of London."
I nagged, I was actually just teasing him, I didn't mind him marrying Johannah. In fact, in my heart I wished this day would come.
But I miss my mum. Deep down, I still hear her voice, And I try to listen to know what she's saying. I miss her words, I miss the look in her eyes. Mum was an angel on earth, and made me believe everyone is as well.

Once, when I was 10, I didn't know better. I saw a girl standing on the bridge, with scars on her wrists. I approached her with all the innocence a 10 year old can have.
"Are you an angel?"
I asked in a low voice.

"What? Why are you saying that?"
She asked confused.

"Because you have those scars mommy has. She says that these who have those scars are angels from heaven, and they're trying to get back there because this world is just so tough and harsh on them, she says that they have a very soft skin and innocent hearts that they get hurt easily."
I smiled.

"Did you know that you have a very great mum?"
She smiled tearing up.

"Yes. Mommy is the best mommy in the whole world. But can I ask you something first?"
I whispered looking left and right.

"Yeah of course sweetie."
She bent over.

"Can you please stay and hold on? Stay strong, I promise life will treat you better. I won't let it harm you anymore. I'll tell life that you're an angel! I promise, just stay here, with us. Our world needs angels like you and mommy. And my mum is really sick, she may not live long. But you're young, please hold on. For me?"
I cried.

"Darling come here."
She said as she hugged me.

"I'll always be you guardian angel."
She kissed me and let me go.

Until now I still feel her arms wrapping me when I'm alone and scared.
That's how great mum was. She never rejected a person. No matter what his beliefs are, his race, his religion, his sexuality, whatever. As long as he's a human being, she respected him.
I started tearing up due to the flash of memories I had about my mum.
Dad came and hugged me.

"Sweetie don't cry. The loving memory of your mother will be always carried in our hearts. She'll always be that angel that never dies. Because a person may go, but his memory is here to stay. And your mum gave us so much to remember. I bet she wants me to do this, she wants me to be happy. And Johannah makes me happy. She's not an evil witch, I promise. She's not green, and she doesn't melt under water. She does get a tail but that's a different topic."
Dad tried to make me smile, but he failed.

"Listen sweetie, I'm getting married next week, and that's that. Please handle this maturely. I don't want my future wife to walk down the aisle without my only daughter as her maid of honour. Plus, getting married is my decision, please respect that."
He tried to explain.

"And not replacing my mum is mine, Understand That!"
I covered my face with my blanket.

"Danny what's wrong with you? You were okay with it yesterday!"
He raised his voice.

"I wasn't thinking about her! Or about mum! I was thinking about myself! About Louis!"
I cried even harder.

"Well I tried! I'm getting married so deal with it... I can't believe I ever thought you grew up.."
He said in a disappointed tone.
