My First Job

Chapter 1

My name is Jennifer and I finally got a job at 18 years old. I walk into the door of the first job I've ever gotten with my 5 word resume. It's a fast food place where we are caged in a small space and only have drive thur and outside dining. The first thing i saw as i walked in was confused looks. I said it's my first day working here.
The manager slowly got me set up and gave me a shirt and hat to put on. I walk to the bathroom to put it on and the first thing i saw was a big, ugly bug. I quickly got out and put the clothing on outside of the bathroom. Hoping no one sees me. Once im done, i walk out and I'm instantly put on drive thur. Based on the manager's instructions, I open the drive thur window and said, "Your total will be $11.33".
The customer gave me $20. The manager told me how much to give back. So I grab the amount out of my cash register and Nervously gave the customer the change and the change fell on the outside floor. I quietly apoligize but the customer was mad. Once the drink and food was ready. I gave the customer the order and said, "have a good day" as the customer quickly drove off.
That's a good start. The manager left and there was a new manager that came. Her name was Kate, She was beautiful. She was the one that will train me. She proceeds to show me what i need to do. I understood it.
So far so good. Now a customer orders some drinks. The bladdermouth, shadowmix and extraray. All mediums. I look at the screen with confustion and the manager said that those are the specials. She shows me how to make it.

The bladdermouth came with a shot of cherry and our special blue with sprite. The shadowmix was Blue raspberry with our homemade black ink with root beer and The extraray was cherry coke spirte with extra cherry. I look with confusion and that's when i was certain i never want to eat or drink at this place ever in my lifetime.

I got to the drive thur window and collected the money and gave the drinks. I did well.
It was extremely slow and I don't blame the people for not coming here.
Kate introduces me to the other employees. There was one person in the kitchen and one person for the outside dining area. Jed in dining and evan in kitchen. Im not sure did they have souls because they seem dead but other than that they were nice.

The day goes by slowly as we only had 2 customers. One more comes on the dining area. Kate takes the order through the wired, outdated headset. Kate kept yelling, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU! WHAT DID U SAY!". I bet all of america hears her. Once she was done taking the order she made the drink and she said to the cook, "Alright Evan, They ordered the SPECIAL".

I was confused as normal. Evan replies, " You mean THAT special? On god that will take 100 years to make." I was curious and asked what is the special. Kate replies, " It's the most dangerously good thing in existance. It's the 10 meat chesseburger with onions, pickles, relish and our secret sauce."
Now i know how i got the job with a 5 word resume. "10 meat patty chesseburger is up" Evan saids. That burger was taller than me. Kate passes it to Jed and Jed takes it out. He comes back in with $50 in hand. I asked Jed how much was the burger and he said $50. I was shook. The shift was ending and the manager had to count my money to make sure everything was right. Everything was right and I dropped the money in a machine.

All I had to do was make sure my ketchup and cups were stocked before i left and of course it was with the little service we had. I leave as my mom picks me up. As i got home, i showered and went to sleep.
