My First Job

Chapter 2

The next day comes and I put on my dark green T shirt with black pants and shoes. My mom drives me to The Hut, My workplace, at 4. It's my second day. I come in and i see Kate, Jed, and Evan. Once i clock in, Kate gave me my money and out me on drive thur.

To my surprise, there was cars in the drive thur. I worked the drive thur as drinks and food was being passed to me. The last car pulls up and the customer in the passenger seat said they want a dinnaduck. I look on the screen and tap the cinnaguck so i told the manager they want a cinnaguck. Once i gave them the cinnaguck, The girl in the passenger seat was soooo mad that she got out of her car and was ready to fight me.

She walks to the side door and this is a time i wish the door was actually lock. Before she can get to me, Kate gets inbetween us and asked the customer what was wrong. The customer yells, "I WANT THE DINNADUCK, NOT NO CINNAGUCK!!" Kate apologizes and saids, " She is new, please forgive her." I almost died today but thankfully kate saved the day. She gave the dinnaduck to her for free. They drive off.

It slows down and Kate shows me the ice cream area and how to clean it. we have ice cream mix with oreo, reeses and brownies. I finally see something normal in this place. The manager told me to change the containers of the candies and to wipe everything with bleach. Then to fill up the ice cream mix. She said I have to do this every night. It is barely 5 but i said ok. I get off at 10 today.

She told me to take a break so i did. There was no break room. We only had one chair in the back. So i sat in the chair and stared at my phone. Once break was over, I came back and got into position. Evan and Jed was pretty quiet. I was nervous so I didnt say anything. Kate seems like the type that likes to talk because she was the only one saying anything.

It's 8pm and all of a sudden it becomes busy. As customers starts coming, I start noticing that we have a sell after 8. 3/4 price off special drinks and ice cream. We had like 10 bladdermouths, 10 shadowmixs and 5 oreo icecream with just one car. It felt like I was running a marathon making the drinks.

Jed was making the ice cream and Kate was taking the orders. I got to the window and asked would they like some cupholders. They said, " No we got 25 hands" I gave them the drinks and they drive off. The next car came and i said, "It'll be $6." The customer said, "NO, I ORDERED THE 3/4 PRICE OFF EXTRARAY!" I look to the screen and see that it was the next order so i charged him for it and said, " Sorry about that, it will be $1" I told the manager that no one is here for this order and she said, " Oh man, it's a drive off." She takes it off the screen and i asked her what happened. She said that they most likely drove out of line before they got to the window.

Once it died down, I looked at the cook that was on his phone while washing dishes and Jed was cleaning the floors. Kate said that the dining area is closed. She told me to clean the ice cream area. I walk over there and do exactly what she told me to do. Once i was done, It was already 10 and i get off and go home.
