“I didn’t even do anything!” Charline sprat at the police officer who had a good grip around her wrists.
He pushed her forward making her stumble and almost fall over. She wined and dragged. She wanted nothing more than the police officer to release his grip around her wrists and let her walk by herself since she was sure the police officer had left bruises where his hands where.
“Let me go!” She tried again only to be met by a mumble of swearwords and something about how teenagers sucked and never learned anything.
“What the fuck are you doing?!” Charline heard her friends yell at the police officer who dragged them towards the doors of the police office.
Charline breathed out and tried to act like she was fine with being dragged into the police office. The police officer only pushed her harder and tightened his grip around her wrists as he opened the door of the police office and dragged her inside.
“This is ridiculous!” Charlie sprat as she saw the signs. Beatrice sighed beside her.
“We didn’t even do anything!” Ana sat in silence beside both of them. She was probably just mad that they were there.
“Quiet!” One of the police officers barked. Beatrice crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her tongue out towards them. Charline just started at them. She was mad. Angry. She hadn’t even done anything yet she was stuck here in some old police office waiting in line to take a mug shot. Charline wanted to point her finger towards the police officers but she would probably get in more trouble if she did that and one of the officers might rape her or something. They looked like they could do that.
She just sighed and kicked her feet on the floor repeatedly as she waited until she could get out of here.
Charline watched as Ana stood there with a blank face and stared into the camera waiting for the flash to come on. “Profile.” Someone shouted and Ana turned to the left holding up her sign with her name on it.
Charline knew her friend better than to think that Ana was okay with them being there. She was sure Ana would hit anyone or anything that came too close to her in the next few minutes. Ana stomped away the second the person who shouted profile had shouted okay next.
The same police officer who had dragged her into the station lead her into the room where the mugshots were taken. She saw Beatrice outside still sitting there with her arms crossed.
“Here.” The police officer mumbled as he gave Charline her sign. She observed the sign.
“My name isn’t even spelled like this.” Charline spitted out the words like they were venom. Everyone spelled her name wrong all the time. “Sucks for you then.”
The police officer shrugged his shoulders and pushed her inside. Charline bit her tongue as she held her comebacks inside. She was close to exploding and the police officer pushed her last buttons.
“No funny business.” The man behind the camera gave her a stern look and Charline just started at him. She was pissed off and everyone told her what to do and not to do and she wanted to scream.
The camera went off and Charline put her middle finger up as she held up her stupid sign with her name spelled wrong over her chest. She heard the man sigh and he mumbled something about stupid fucking teenagers.
Everyone here seemed to be pissed off at teenagers but to Charline it seemed like everyone here was cranky old men who never got laid and that was why they were so pissed off and angry.
“Chaline what di-”
“It’s Charline you fuckhead!” She almost dropped her sign as she screamed at him.
“Whatever.” She heard him mumble.
“It’s not mine!” She protested once again as the police officer questioned her all over again.
She was in a room with only two chairs and a table between them. It was Charline and the police officer who had brought her to the office that sat on them. Charline was tired. She wanted to go home. Sleep. Do something else. The police station smelled like sweaty feet and old men.
Charline sighed. Dragged her hand through her hair. “Can I go home now?” She questioned. A yawn escaped her lips. It was probably five in the morning and her body was screaming for sleep.
“Not until you admit that the drugs are yours.” The police officer had a bald head.
He looked like he was close to 50 and he had a beer stomach. She was sure he had no wife nor family so questioning Charline over and over again with the same stupid questions was his only hobby.
Charline started at the little plastic bag that contained the drugs. It was pills. Maybe 15. They were the reason she was there. They were the reason for ruining her night. And it wasn’t even hers. She wasn’t sure how they got there but when she found out she would haunt the person down and make them pay for this. “For the last time the drugs aren’t mine. I have no idea how they got there!” Charline gave up and laid her head on the table. She just wanted to get out of there.
“Eric the girls needs to leave.” Another police officer opened the door and spoke to the police officer in front of Charline.
“The evidence is clear but the girls are denying it all!” Eric complained.
Charline was about to throw up. He acted like a five year old who didn’t get the toy he wanted.
“Don’t get in trouble.” The same man that was the camera man stood in front of Charline pressing her finger into the paper making sure her fingerprints would be there forever.
Charline smiled at him like she would take his advice. What kind of stupid advice was even don’t get in trouble?
“Whatever.” The man pressed her finger harder into the paper. “You can’t just whatever the law.”
Charline rolled her eyes.
