Shinso's POV

Y/n looked like a deer caught in headlights. She stood there for a moment, her eyes flickering around the room as she seemed to assess where to sit. There were four couches positioned around a dark oak coffee table. I could feel Mina's presence beside me. She had either overshot her landing and ended up sitting mere inches away from me, or she had purposely wanted to sit close enough that I could practically feel the energy radiating off of her. It could have gone either way, honestly. Mina seemed like the type that was overly friendly and skirted on the line of touchy feely with people that she considered herself close with, so I didn't think much of it. However, it didn't leave much room for me to scoot over and offer Y/n the seat next to me.

The remainder of the party was divided with boys on one side, girls on the other, with Bakugo planted solidly in the middle on the couch across from Mina and I. His arms were crossed across his puffed out chest, already slouched down in his seat as though he was an obstinate toddler waiting for his time out to be over.

Y/n moved across the room, her feet slightly dragging as she seemed to succumb to the inevitable and took a seat next to Bakugo. His blood red eyes lingered on her for a moment too long before darting away and staring at the coffee table in front of him.

"All right, so let's get this bullshit started already," Bakugo snapped.

"Truth or dare, Bakugo," I said.

"Oh shit," I heard Sero mutter.

When I glanced over, it looked as though Sero was waiting for the explosion that was sure to follow Bakugo being challenged. Kaminari, on the other hand, looked like a kid at Christmas, his face lit up as his eyes darted between the ash blonde boy and myself.

"So, what? The purple haired troll gets to start even though you don't even live here?!" Bakugo narrowed his eyes at me as he kicked a foot out, slamming it down on the coffee table as though it was a power move to assert his dominance.

"Well, he's our guest, so yeah, I think it makes sense." Jiro said. "Just pick truth or dare already."

He shot her a glare before looking me dead in the eye as he said, "Dare."

"I dare you to not insult anyone for the rest of the game," I said.

A chorus of laughter burst out from the boys and Mina giggled beside me. Y/n looked like she was having heart palpitations as she suddenly became engrossed with picking at the skin around her nails.

"What kind of stupid ass dare is that?" Bakugo barked.

"I mean...you're already losing given that...that's an insult," Yaoyorozu pointed out.

He really is so predictable. I felt myself smirking as his face scrunched up and reddened before he scoffed and turned away as though dismissing the entire thing. Maybe this will actually shut him up, I thought, as I looked to Y/n. She looked up and met my eyes. Her lips twitched up into a small smile but I could tell that she was feeling uncomfortable. It felt like she was miles away even though it would have been easy enough to close the distance between us in a few easy steps. I couldn't stop thinking about that moment that had happened right before we had left her room. The soft rise and fall of her chest as she looked up at me, those emerald eyes shining with life and curiosity.

"Okay, let's just go around the circle!" Mina laid a hand on my knee, breaking me out of the memory before lifting it dramatically into the air and pointing a slender pink finger at Y/n. "Y/n! Truth or dare?"

"Uhhhh, truth?"

Mina seemed to deflate as Bakugo snickered and muttered something that I didn't catch. Y/n shot him a glare before whipping back to face us. "Fine, dare!"
