𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧,𝟎𝟖/𝐗𝐗/𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟎The silence was almost uncomfortable, but Hotaru continued sipping her coffee and gazing into the foam, trying to avoid eye contact. She sighs softly, closing her eyes in a moment of serenity before taking another sip.
Hotaru's mind drifted back to the earlier encounter, a scene playing out vividly in her memory.
"What about the girl that Iwaizumi-san is with?" Hotaru's tone was firm, her arms crossed in front of her, refusing to let the matter slide.
"What girl?" Iwaizumi's confusion was evident in his response.
"Oh!" Oikawa interjected, clasping his hands together. "We were having lunch with Kina-chan today."
The girl in question, sitting with Iwaizumi, was Oikawa's girlfriend. They had been sharing an awkward lunch together while Oikawa retrieved his forgotten meal from the classroom. Somehow, Ichika had caught a glimpse of this and jumped to a misunderstood conclusion.
"So, the girl with you... isn't your girlfriend?" Ichika's voice was hesitant, avoiding direct eye contact with Iwaizumi, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment for jumping to conclusions and causing unnecessary distress.
"No!" Iwaizumi responded quickly, a hint of flustered frustration evident as he scratched his cheek. "I was just accompanying her because Trashykawa wouldn't let me go."
"She's your responsibility, idiot!" Iwaizumi's voice boomed with frustration. "Because of you, this misunderstanding would have never existed!"
"Yeah—" Oikawa began to respond, but before he could finish, he was cut off.
"What are you kids doing here?!" The security guard's shout echoed through the stairwell, startling the teens. They shifted uncomfortably under his stern gaze, exchanging glances.
"I don't think we should talk here," Hotaru suggested, her voice low but determined. "Let's take it elsewhere."
"Agreed," Iwaizumi nodded, his expression tense as they quickly made their way to a quieter spot to continue their conversation.
