"You don't love because; you love despite; not for the virtues, but despite the faults."- William Faulkner

Simone wasn't sure of how to feel as she moved with careful steps out of the elevator into the dark foyer illuminated with candle lights.

The scent of lavender flowers engulfed her senses with its intoxicating fragrance as she looked around in astonishment. Rose petals were lined on the hardwood flooring, creating a path as she moved in its wake.

"Genevieve?" Simone called the GUI robot as she noticed a card on the inbuilt dark wooden table to the wall in front of a framed mirror.

"Hi Simone. How can I help?" Genevieve asked through the system as it glowed blue at the top edge of the wall.

"Is there anyone in the house?" Simone asked as she picked up the card with 'My darling' in scripted on the front.

"The monitor only detects two people." Genevieve answered.

If there were only two people, that would mean her, and supposedly Sarah- her housekeeper. But from the looks of things, it seemed the other person would be George?

Hey babe, welcome home.
I know you're probably shocked by everything (laughs) but it's fine.
Just let the roses and cards lead those hot legs to where they're meant to be, and your beautiful eyes to what they're meant to see.
xxGeorge.

Simone couldn't help the smile that crept to her lips as she blushed while reading the note. George could be really sweet when he wanted to be and by the looks of everything from the warm glow of candle lights, and line of roses, to the intoxicating scent of lavender flowers, it proved just how much of a romantic he was.

Simone continued to follow the trail in amazement as it led her up the stairs with glowing candle lights by each side.

Opening her room door, she stepped into the vast darkness with only the glow of candles and scent of flowers and the endless line of rose petals.

The curtains were pulled back on either side, exposing the balcony through the floor to ceiling glass doors. The exposure gave an ethereal view of LA's night skyline. It was beautiful.

The floral trail continued as it led Simone to her king-sized bed with another card placed on top a black rectangular box with a red bow tied to it.

I've got a surprise for you inside this box. But only open it after you're done with your bath.
Don't let your curiosity spoil the surprise, okay?

Simone chuckled as she dropped the card down before moving to undress out of her work clothes and wrap a towel around her.

Simone was a fan of surprises so she didn't like to spoil them, but that did not mean she wasn't curious to know what was inside that attractive gift box.

Walking into the bathroom, she couldn't help but give an amazed breath at the candles arranged round the Jacuzzi tub on the floor with dozens of rose petals sprinkled about in the bath.

The warm water engulfed her as the evocative scent of flowers filled her senses once she settled in the bath. Then a soft classic tune played in the background as the top edge of the wall glowed blue from the device. Simone was surprised because she did not recall asking Genevieve to play anything.

Then it hit her- of course, George would have set it to play on sensitivity. She smiled all the more as she relaxed into the bath, the warmth soothing her aching muscles.
