Prey [Ayato Kirishima]

Chapter 1

3rd persons pov
The snow crunched as (y/n)'s boots came in contact with it. Another beautiful november evening in district 24. She wished that she could call it a peaceful night but that was impossible in a city where ghouls take over the night. She grew up being told to never go out at night, to avoid dark alleys. (Y/n) inhaled the fresh winter air. She truly did enjoy a calm night by herself. (Y/n) doesn't necessarily want company all the time, she enjoys being by herself. Sometimes she even needed it.

Her best friend is Hide, she had known him since she was a little kid. They grew up together and spent most of their childhood together. She really is grateful for him. She snapped out of her thoughts when she noticed that it was time to head home because the sun was slowly going down. ''It's cold'' she mumbled to herself and burried her face into her warm scarf as she walked home. Arriving at home she changed into more comfortable clothes and cooked ramen. (Y/n) lived alone which often caused a lot of people to talk about her. Both of her parents worked in other countries so they wouldn't talk, not that they bothered to take care of their own child. (Y/n) sat down on her couch, she held the warm ramen bowl in her hands, ready to enjoy dinner. (Y/n) switched on the tv. ''Three corpses have recently been found in district 24. The cause of death was due to a ghoul attack'' the news reporter said. She gulped. It wasn't uncommon but knowing that it was near her home made her feel uneasy. She knew that ghouls had no choice but to eat humans in order to survive but thinking about the victims made her stomach turn. (Y/n) decided that it would be better to go to bed. Laying down she snuggled into her warm blanket and felt herself getting sleepy and soon she dozed off.

(Y/n) pov
The alarm started ringing and you opened your eyes slowly. ''Arghh I don't want to go to school'' But it couldn't be helped. Not caring too much about your tired looking appearance you changed into the school uniform. You grabbed your bag and a thermos filled with hot tea, you left the apartment and started walking. ''Hey (y/n)!'' her yellowish haired friend Hide called out. ''Morning'' you said in a sleepy voice. ''Hey listen to this'' you couldn't even react as Hide plugged his earphones in your ears. Hide loved showing you new songs and honestly you enjoyed it as well. ''I like it'' you said giving him a warm smile. ''Now that's what I want to hear'' he giggled. At times like this you were really grateful for him. He knew that sometimes you tend to isolate yourself but he has been there since you were a kid. Hide and you entered the school and went to your classroom. Class started as your thoughts wandered.

The bell rang and Hide and you left the classroom. ''You can go home without me, I need something from the library'' you said. ''Are you sure?'' Hide asked as he frowned. You nodded. ''Please don't stay for too long, okay?'' ''Don't worry it won't take too long'' you assured him and smiled softly at him. ''Alright but call me if something happens.'' You said good bye and left. You soon entered the library and started looking for a specific book. ''Found it'' you whispered to yourself. You held the book you were looking for in your hands. You opened the book and started reading. You forgot the time as you were turning page by page. You looked at your phone in shock. ''No no no'' you were cursing yourself in your head. ''It can't be that late already'' you mentally screamed. You started to panic slightly. It was getting dark outside and you knew that you needed to go home immediately. You grabbed your bag and hurried up leaving the library. Walking out, the cold air hit you but you only thought about getting home as fast as possible. ''Just a few more blocks'' you tried to calm yourself down while you were walking past an alley.

You heard a noise and turned around but no one was behind you. You felt your heart beating faster. You were getting anxious and fastened your speed so you were almost running. A loud thump was heard as your back suddenly hit the hard wall in the dark alley. You growled in pain. You closed your eyes for a moment trying to process the sharp ache which caused you to cough up. You looked up to see what caused the pain.
