You see Aidan coming out of his car and run over to him. "Hey! I'm so glad you could make it." You say, smiling.
He smiles. "Me too. Do I look alright?" He asks, gesturing to his dress shirt and jeans.
You nod. "You look great." You say, a flush touching your cheeks. "I'll show you around quickly and then I need to go get ready." You say, grabbing his arm.
You lead him into your church and introduce him to some of your friends.
You show him into the auditorium. "And this is where the services are held. Let's find you a seat and I'll join you when we're finished." You say, walking by a row of almost filled chairs. "Is this a good spot?" You ask. He nods, looking a little harried. "Are you nervous?" You ask, raising your eyebrows.
"No. It's just that I wish you were sitting next to me. I don't know anyone here." He says, grasping your hand.
You smile. "Aidan, everything will be okay. Just sit down. I promise everything will go good." You say, as he sits. He let's go of your hand and you pat his shoulder, before walking off.
After the service is finished, you meet Aidan back at his chair. "Hey." You say, sliding into a chair next to him. "How did you like it?" You ask, a little nervous.
He takes your shoulders in his hands. "I loved it!! I want to go back. Next Sunday if possible." He says quickly.
You laugh. "Well, I'm glad you liked it!" You exclaim. "I told you not to be nervous. You know, the whole time I was singing, I don't think your eyes ever left mine." You say, giggling.
Aidan blushes. "It wasn't because of nerves..." He says quietly.
The color of your face matches his and you both look away. "So, uh, is there a place where I can volunteer?" He asks suddenly.
You look at him. "Yeah, yes, of course." You say.
"Great. Because I think this is going to be my new church." He says.
You hug him, without thinking. "Oh, I'm so glad." You say, as his arms come around you.
You pull back a moment later, looking to your lap, face heating up. "We-we should meet up again soon." You say.
Aidan places his hand on yours. "I'd like that."
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
