Kairi's p.o.v

"Uhhh how about we play hide and seek bebe? You hide and I'll count"

"Okay" Michael ran as I started counting loudly until I heart his little stomps go up the stairs. I turned around and looked at Mattia.

"Was that a mistake because if-"

"No it wasn't and I wanna do it again"

I walked up to him , grabbed his face and kissed him passionately. I gripped his shirt trying to compose myself.

"I've wanted to do that for so long" I mumbled blushing.

"Oh really?" Mattia asked smirking.

"Shut up" I giggled pushing him. "You better get going before you're late"

"Ugh you're right , see you guys later" Mattia pecked my lips and left. I stood there shocked but broke into a huge smile and did a little happy dance. I jogged up the steps looking around for Michael.

Omniscient

"Michael, come out come out where ever you areee"

"Here I am mommy " the boy squealed running up to Kairi and hugging his legs. Kairi's heart swelled at the way Michael didn't hesitate to give him that title.

"Bubba just call me miss Kairi for now okay?"

"But why can't I call you mommy? You act like one and you're pretty like one" Michael whines as his eyes welled up with tears. In all honesty, one would believe that Michael missed his mother but that wasn't the case, he just loved Kairi , he wanted Kairi to live with them and never leave him at night like the way it always happened. Michael truly saw Kairi as his mom.

Kairi sighed deeply  "I'll have to ask your dad if it's okay first alright? But for now let's get you some ice cream" Michael sniffled and nodded. The two descended down the stairs and made their way to the kitchen. Kairi scooped ice cream into two bowls before pouring chocolate sauce over them. He gave Michael one of the bowls along with a small spoon.

"Cheers" Michael giggled putting his spoon out for Kairi to return the action and clink them together. Kairi did just that and laughed. Michael ate some and shivered.

"It's cold" the boy said as he swallowed the frozen treat. Kairi nodded in agreement but kept eating it anyway.

✨ HOURS LATER✨

Mattia's p.o.v

"I'm home" I sang closing the door and loosening my tie. I turned around in confusion when I didn't hear Michael cheer and run to me. I walked to the living room and the sight before me made me coo. There laid Kairi with Michael on his chest and Elyssa in her baby bouncer. They were all sleeping soundly and the only sound was the t.v that illuminated a cartoon that I soon identified as Spongebob. I walked in front of them and turned the t.v off. I walked over to Kairi and gently picked Michel up off his chest.

"What?" Kairi asked jumping up after feeling Michael move. I chuckled softly  and nodded.

"Very alert, impressive" I complimented. I saw Kairi blush and look down.

"I uhhh I better get going" Kairi announced getting up "I already fed Lyssa, she'll probably need to be changed soon and Uhh Michael ate some nuggets but I made you some-mmm"

I cut Kairi off by kissing him gently.

"I've wanted to do that all day" I whispered smiling and caressing his face.

"Mattia what are we doing? I mean you just got dumped by Celia , I don't want to be a rebound"

I shook my head frantically because he was getting it all wrong.

"No no look Kai, I always thought you were cute but I pushed it at the back of my head because I'm 12 years older than you"

"Age is nothing but a number"

"Yeah when I saw your ass I learned that" I said smirking.

"Shut up" Kairi groaned rolling his eyes."Michael asked me if he could call me mommy, Mattia it's getting harder to avoid telling him no"

"Then don't, let him do it if he feels comfortable" in all honesty Kairi has been more of a mother figure to Michael than Katherine and that tells you a lot.

"but it's not like that though" Kairi mumbles looking down.

"Hey, if you let me take you out , it can be like that" I told him. His head snapped up and he looked at me shocked.

"Then who'll watch the kids?"

"I'll get another sitter" I said shrugging.

"No, we can bring them along, I'm not leaving my babies with some rando"

"Your babies?" I asked smirking

"They're mine too, I've been with them everyday for the past month and a half"

"Okay okay, we'll bring them along"

"Good, now I gotta get going, my mom has a flight to japan in a few hours and I'm driving her to the airport"

My eyebrows knitted together in confusion "so you'll be home alone?"

"Yeah, I mean my mom's leaving and my little sister is off at boarding school" Kairi answered shrugging.

"Then stay here with us, I don't want you home alone"

"Mattia I've slept home alone before , I'll be fine"

"No Kairi I insist , I want you safe, so please, you can stay in the guest house out back if you want to" I ranted whole heartedly.

"Fine, only because your guest house is better than my bedroom"

"Great , you can come after you've dropped your mom off"

"Okay"

Kairi smiled softly and grabbed his stuff and he walked to the door.

"Hey, no kiss?" I asked pouting.

"Oh yeah how could I forget?" He asked and I smiled puckering my lips. To my dismay instead of feeling soft lips on mine, I didn't feel anything. I opened my eyes and saw that Kairi was smiling at me while he looked at Michael. I pulled back to look at Michael's face and saw lipgloss in the shape of lips on his cheek.

"I meant me" I whined and he giggled.

"Come here you" he got on his tip toes and gave me a gentle kiss. "See you soon"
