i ran into my room to gather up my things. i was going to be staying at noen's for the rest of the time i was in LA (until sunday), so i had quite a bit of stuff to bring over.

once i had packed all of my bags, i lightly placed them in front of the door. i ran my hand through my long black hair as i was scrolling through instagram on my phone,  but i eventually got bored and went to go sit down on the couch.

i slid my phone into pocket and leaned back into the couch. i was letting my mind wander to pass the time when i heard a voice from across the house.

"have fun at noen's place!" madi shouted. I leaned my head back to yell at her.

"how did you even know i was going? i asked her, very confused. i saw her emerge out her room and walk through the hallway. she was eating a bag of hot cheetos and the smell of them instantly made me hungry.

'maybe i could go get a snack when im with noen' i thought. i saw madi enter the kitchen and smiled when chris came out soon after.

"we were watching noen's live, duh." chris said sarcastically. i smiled awkwardly and played with my hoodie sleeve.

"oh yeah, right. i think i forgot we were live, it almost felt like we were on FaceTime." i said quietly. chris and madi didn't seem to be too concerned with my reasoning as they were giggling with their faces about 5 inches away from eachother. i rolled my eyes. "you guys are  disgusting, im out." they turned and shouted indistinguishable words jumbled with laughter as i waved and promptly walked out the door. i thought i might as well wait outside for noen since it was so nice out. i looked down at my phone to look for an 'im here' text from my best friend when i heard the sound of tires coming up madi's driveway. i felt a weird feeling inside when i looked up and saw that it was noen's face in the window, i assumed it was social anxiety. without missing a beat noen jumped out of his car and began to run towards me with his arms open wide, his white t shirt swaying in the wind. i felt myself smiling like crazy as i ran to give him a hug. our bodies met and he smelled like vanilla. 'shit, ive missed him' i thought. i became aware of the people on the street while our arms were intertwined and i quickly let go and looked at the ground.

"it's great to see you again chase." noen said happily. i looked at him and grinned.

"you too buddy."

...

we arrived at his house and i immediately felt at home. of course i had never been there yet since he had just moved to LA, but noen and i have a very similar style. anything he likes, ill probably like too. he gave me a quick tour of the place and ended going to his room where he flopped onto his bed, clearly exhausted from a long day of doing absolutely nothing. i always like to get settled right away when i arrive somewhere, so i thought i might as well ask him.

"hey noen, where's the guest bedroom?" he looked up at me with a confused expression and then slowly frowned.

"oh, yeah, my bad i forgot about that part" he replied, "if you're so afraid of cooties, follow me." he continued, smirking. i rolled my eyes and sighed as i followed him out of his room and down the hallway. "you can sleep in here chase." he stated, pointing towards a simple looking room. i nodded thankfully and walked inside, placing my bag on the bed. noen pulled his phone out of his pocket and walked out of the guest room. as i was about to unpack he turned his head towards me and interrupted my train of thought.

"oh by the way, im starving, you wanna go get something to eat?" noen asked me.

"yeah, yeah i could eat, how about boston pizza in 10 minutes?" i replied eagerly.

"alright, it's a date." he said with a wink, and promptly walked out of the room.

'what a loser' i thought with a smile.
