Jennie swiftly turned around, pointing the gun at the person's head. The figure only chuckled and glared at her.
'I wouldn't do that if I were you, Kim.' they said, their voice manly and deep. Jennie gulped and glared back, tightening her grip on the handgun. 'And why should I listen to pathetic wannabes?' Jennie snapped, mentally sighing at her stupidity. The man smirked, pointing the gun harshly to her temple, her gun pointing at his neck as they were suddenly indulged in a glaring contest.
'Your filthy girlfriend, Kim Jisoo, is dead, she won't save you now.' the man snarled. Jennie rolled her eyes and only pressed the gun against his neck harder.'Unlike you, I don't need anyone to save me.' she spoke back, trying not to let her voice waver as she thought of the girl she had cared for as an older sister. The man looked at her as if she was crazy and chuckled once more.
'I'm not playing now, Jennie Kim. Hand over the USB, or die.' he threatened. Jennie scoffed internally at the cliche-ness of this whole situation as she tried to suppress laughter at this thought.
'That threat is a bit overused, am I wrong?' Jennie asked, raising an eyebrow at the agitated man.'Just shut up and give it to us!' the man shouted in her face, impatiently. Jennie pursed her lips in distaste as he spat on her face, her face contorted into disgust as she pulled the trigger, a small bullet piercing the man's throat as he stared blankly at her in disbelief, dropping limp to the floor. Jennie snickered and shook her head, twisting the USB with her fingers.
'I'm a bloody genius.' she whispered to herself, smirking as she left the alleyway, pocketing the stolen money she took after hiding the gun. Jennie pulled out her phone and dialed Sandara's number, sighing as she was left on voicemail.
'I found the USB, what now?' she thought to herself, looking around and rolling her eyes at the blandness of the street.Jennie furrowed her eyebrows and peeked back into the alleyway, walking up to the dead man's body (the one she had just killed) and crouched down next to him, patting his clothes and almost gasping when she had felt something, smiling to herself and taking it outside, holding a small vial of what looked like poison.
She scoffed, 'This is what they were going to give me?' Jennie asked herself quietly, putting the small vial onto the floor and crushing it with her heels. A small, rectangular piece of something that had looked like a card that laid in the man's breast pocket hadn't missed her sight, peaking her interest. She dug it out of the pocket with her long, acrylic nails and scanned the card-like object. Jennie looked around the dark alley wearily, feeling as if she was being watched, and slid the card with the USB into her jacket pocket, frowning as if she was about to cry. Jennie stubbornly wiped her unshed tears and took a deep breath, walking out of the alleyway and clenching her fists tightly, desperate to not cry in front of hoards of people as she was walking through the crowd, walking aimlessly, to be specific.
'I have nowhere to go, for lord's sake.' she thought, cussing herself out as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Jennie felt around in her pockets, drawing out more than a stack of money that she had somehow managed to hide, and mentally congratulated Jisoo - not actually mentioning her name, out loud or in her head, it was too much to forget and take in.Of course, Jennie had refused to believe Jisoo had died, because, why would they kill her? Just to get to Jennie? Right, this was all her fault, she believed, if she hadn't acted that way to Jisoo, then maybe, just maybe, she would be alive. Jennie sighed and pulled out her phone again, putting away the money and scrolling down her contacts, pressing Jihyo's contact and holding the phone to her ear, leaning against a street pole.
'Hello?' a woman said at the other end of the line.
'Jihyo, I suppose you'd heard the news...' Jennie said, keeping her head down and her gaze at the heels. She heard a sigh on the other side, followed by ruffling and movement.
'I know what you're thinking, Jennie. It isn't your fault, anyways, I see your location, Boss had put me in a hotel near where you are, I somehow got to salvage loads of things, they're in perfect condition! And -' Jihyo rambled, making Jennie smile a bit before frowning and scanning the people-filled area, her eyes stopping at a luxurious building.
'I'm waiting, boss told me you found the USB. The hotel's to your right, room three hundred and twenty. I'll order some food, hurry up.' she finished before hanging up. Jennie tried to smile, failing, as the news of her best friend's death suddenly weighed down painfully on her as she resumed her walking, heading towards that same building where Jihyo was.***
Jennie walked inside room three hundred and twenty, groaning when she was engulfed in a tight hug.
'Jennie! You were late so I figured something happened to you, I was so worried!' Jihyo squeaked, Jennie smiled, patting her head before breaking the hug and slipping off her heels, digging everything out of her clothes' pockets and dumping them on the double bed (they're not sharing, there are two beds, actually). Jihyo snickered at the amount of stuff she had hidden and turned to her.
'Jisoo did this?' she asked, raising an eyebrow and laughing when Jennie nodded. Jihyo shook her head and grabbed a laptop that was ontop of messy bedsheets and jumped onto the bed, placing the laptop in her lap.'Come on then, bring the USB!' Jihyo said excitedly.
