Chapter twenty two: a blast from the past part 1

no one's POV

The 5 little girls are playing together with their dolls in the living room. Their parents planned to go picknick with their children today. Stanley, who is the father of the quintuplet, his brother Alex and also his brother's mate Angelina will also come.

He also invited his best friend Joseph and his family. Joseph is a wolf with a high rank in their pack because he is one of their best soliders.

Stanley is an Omega because he is too weak to fight in their army. That never bothered them, they were best friends since they were 7 years old and never cared about each other's rank.

Joseph's mate Veronica and their children named, Asher, Oliver and Ace will also come. Asher is 4 years old just like the quintuplet, Oliver is 6 years old and Ace is 7 years old.

They are befriended with the quintuplet, because their parents were friends they knew each other since the day they were born and luckily could get along pretty well.

Stanley walks inside the living room. "We're leaving" Stanley says to his daughters. "Okay daddy" They say and get up. They are very excited for the trip.

They follow their father outside. Outside their mother Simone, their uncle Alex and their aunt Angelina wait for them.

Stanley put his arms protectively over his wife's stomach. She's pregnant with their first son. They first walk towards the house of Joseph to pick him up. Stanley rings his doorbell.

They greet each other. "What did you bring for the picknick?" Stanley asks Joseph. "My wife made together with the children ice cream and also a few sandwhiches, what did you bring?" He asks him.

"We made cupcakes together and smoothies" He says. "Cupcakes!" Asher screams happy and runs outside. Oliver and Ace follow him behind. Veronica just walks downstairs.

Their stairs is in their hallway. "Carefull!" Joseph says panicky. Veronica rolls her eyes. "I'm just pregnant not dying" She says. He helps her put on her shoes because she can't bent because her belly is too big.

She's 3 months pregnant, which looks like 7 months pregnant for humans. Werewolfs only get 4 months pregnant. The boys ran towards the girls and they all start talking to each other about tv shows they saw.

The group walks towards the forest, which is right next to their pack. They walk towards an open area next to a pound.

They place 2 picknick cloths on the ground and sit down. The children are playing tag you're it while the adults talk. Now and then the children take a break to eat ice cream or a cupcake.

What they don't know is that they're being watched by 3 rouges, and that they are hungry. Alira, the youngest of the quintuplet looks at the bush they are behind.

She thought that she saw something. Then she sees yellow wolf eyes looking back at her. "AAAAAH" She screams.

The wolves come out of their hiding place. "Alira come back here now!" Her dad yells at her. She runs back towards them but gets caught.

"Everybody come here!" Joseph yells at the other children. They run back to their parents. The rouges come closer to them. "Turn into your wolf and run!" Joseph says.

Everybody does so. The little girls have trouble with running. "Sit on my back" Joseph says to Mia who runs next to him.

She turns into human form and sits down on his back. Leilani sits on veronica's back, Chiara on Alex's back and Chelsea on Angelina's back.

One of the rouges attacked Simone and also Alira so Stanley stayed to protect them.

"Where's daddy?" Leilani the oldest asks. Joseph looks behind him, it's too late for them. All 3 of them are laying unconciously on the ground with now more than 3 rouges surrounding them.

"He will come soon" He lies to her. "We need to bring the girls in safety first, then we will come back with reinforcement, they are with way too many. And I think it's too late anyways, I saw them laying unconciously on the ground" Joseph mindlinks to the adults.

Veronica looks behind her and sees a puddle of blood surrounding Stanley and his wife. "Poor girls, they are without parents. And poor Alira she was so young" Veronica mind links back.

Joseph came back with a few soldiers of their pack. There he is, his best friend with his mate, death on the ground, surrounded by way too much blood, and also a few missing limbs, probably eaten by the rogues. He notices that Simone's stomach is open and under the blood.

He knew that she was 3 months pregnant with their first son. They killed their unborn baby too. Joseph has to stop himself from crying, he has to stay strong.

"Bring them back to the pack, they will get a proper funeral" Joseph says to the soldiers. He doesn't want to bring them back himself, he still can't believe that his best friend got brutally murdered.

He looks around. "Where's Alira?" He says out loud. He starts to worry but also gets hopeful. "They were also here with their 3 years old daughter, search for her, she can't be that far" He says to the soldiers. He is worried that they maybe took her, but also hopeful that she maybe escaped.

He comes back home. He walks inside the living room and sees Stanley's 4 daughters scared and crying on the couch.

He walks towards his mate Veronica. "We found them dead, they will bring them here so we can give them a funeral" He says. Veronica looks with pity and tears in her eyes at the little girls on the couch.

"So that means we have to keep our promise" He says. When the girls were born Joseph and Veronica became their godfather and godmother because Alex, Joseph's brother, didn't find his mate yet and also used to be a full time soldier so there was a possibility he didn't survive.

So now they will keep their promise, and adopt Stanley's and Simone's children. "But I also have good news, sort of, Alira wasn't found so she must be alive" He says. Veronica looks hopeful at him. "So she is safe?" She says. "I'm not sure about that" Joseph says honest.

One of the soldiers that searched for Alira mindlinked Joseph to meet him. Right now they are in the centre of their pack. "We didn't find her but we did find this" He says and gives a peace of cloth with an emblem of a pack on it.
