Rayna ran. She saw Helen shoot upwards taking advantage of Chief Jordan not being a superhuman but he just flew up with her. Helen was shocked for a second but then she blew him over with a big gust of wind. He got up looking more furious than ever. He glared down at Rayna with such hate she stumbled backwards. But she looked back at him and he looked the same, he always did. Rayna always looked at Chief Jordan with such admiration she never noticed the pure loathing in his eyes. Now she did, and she did not like it. As she ran the only thing she could see was plants. She found a few elephant ear leaves and took shelter to catch her breath. She looked down at her uniform and tilted her head up in annoyance, eyes closed. Her uniform was in tatters. Her shirt had a million rips from running through all the plants, her pants had been cut short and she had lost her shoes completely. She searched around for her badge and found it in her pocket. As soon as she saw it her knees buckled and her badge fell to the floor. It had been cut into pieces. Two years of training gone, disappeared. She looked up and two leaves fell on her face. She swiped them off her face and screamed. An ear piercing shriek that was full of pain and hurt. Where the leaves had fallen it burned like acid. She touched her face and put her hand in front of her face, it was completely coated in blood. She cried. As police she wasn't allowed to cry, but then she couldn't hold it back. Then Helen appeared in front of her. She expected Helen to freak out and make sure she was ok but she didn't. Instead she rushed up and gave her a hug. Rayna prefered this, and she was sure Helen did too. Then another leaf fell, almost on Helen but Rayna pushed her away. At first Helen was hurt but then she saw the leaf and bent down to get it. "What's this?" she asked "Don't!" Rayna yelled. "Jeez! what's the matter?" Helen replied, "Look at my face!"said Rayna "This kind of leaf did this to me!!!" Helen studied the leaf. It was a type of lavender with a smooth curvy side, and a soft flat surface. In other words it was beautiful, perfect even. Except for the fact that it burned human skin. They looked up and saw two identical lavender leafed trees. They were Jacaranda trees. Although they looked a bit like Willow Trees, just a bit. The only thing that they knew was that one could burn them and one couldn't. They looked at each other thinking the same thing. Helen said it out loud "Time to climb." They each grabbed a tree trunk and climbed their tree. When they both got to the top they nodded and touched the closest leaf.
